it was time for school.

yeonjun honestly wanted to stay at home and wallow in self pity, but oh well. before he left his house he got a call from taehyun.

"hey-"

"what did you do?"

"w-what are you talking about?"

"don't play dumb! soobin hyung won't come to school and he got super pissed when beomgyu said your name!"

"um..."

"noona, please. tell me what happened."

"i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to! w-wooyoung just-"

"did...did you cheat on soobin hyung??"

"taehyun, i-"

"what the fuck, yeonjun!"

"i didn't mean to! it happened so quickly and-"

"fine, whatever. we'll talk later, okay?"

"okay..."

soobin buried himself deeper into his mattress, eyes puffy and red from crying all night. "hyung, please!"

"go away," he said quietly, ignoring beomgyu's pleas. taehyun walked in and sighed. "hyung, i know what he did hurts-"

soobin turned to them and glared at taehyun. "hurts? my heart has been shattered into a million pieces! i feel like the world is crumbling and nothing matters anymore so just leave me with my bread and ice cream," soobin grumbled. beomgyu and taehyun exchanged a look.

"dramatic idiot," beomgyu said, dragging his brother out of bed.

taehyun managed to sneak away from the brothers and found yeonjun taking a picture of the cloudy sky. he tapped the elder's shoulder to get his attention. yeonjun looked at him a with sad eyes. "hey, taehyun-ah,"

"you seriously fucked up." taehyun said. yeonjun nodded and looked at the bracelet. "i know."

after yeonjun told taehyun what happened, the younger boy facepalmed. "why did you kiss him back?!"

"i don't know! instinct maybe?"

"it's instinct to cheat?"

"you know what i mean!"

taehyun took hold of yeonjun's wrist and pulled him over to where soobin and beomgyu stood. soobin was about to walk away when beomgyu stopped him. "you two need to talk."

soobin sat on the desk in the empty classroom, waiting for yeonjun to speak. the yellow haired boy fiddled with the promise bracelet, unsure what to say. usually he would start with a sorry but clearly soobin doesn't appreciate those.

"i..." he started. soobin looked up at him and sighed. "you're sorry, right? that's what they all say but they aren't."

yeonjun frowned and stepped closer to soobin. "i am sorry, soobin."

"oh really? for what, exactly?" soobin challenged, standing up. yeonjun bit his lip and looked away. "i'm sorry for...for kissing back." yeonjun whispered. 

"oh really?"

"i'm sorry for breaking your trust and hurting you. i have no feelings for wooyoung at all. i'm sorry for all of it." soobin stepped back and let out a wry laugh. "that's new." yeonjun watched as soobin sat down again and run a hand through his-  "your hair!!"

yes, soobin's hair had changed colour. to take his mind off things, soobin's aunt dyed his hair purple. it worked as a distraction until soobin burst into to tears, rambling on about how good yeonjun looked with dyed hair.

"do you...like it?"

"y-yeah,"

it went awkward again.
