12. Their First Date

Chad asks, "How do you feel?"

Clarence is too embarrassed to look back at him. He has gone back to their dorm to pick up his stuffs.

The estrus period went haywire and Albert has marked him. They ended up making love for three days straight. In the warehouse.

"I'm good. I'm sorry...you look after me all these years. And I blew it..."

"It's okay. Tell me if Albert doesn't treat you well. I'm going to smack his arrogant head for you."

"Chad, you are the best for me."

Clarence hugs him one last time before he drags his suitcase away. He is going to live with Albert in another room. Everyone knows they are couples now.

Chad is going to drink his nutritional heatlh pack when Axell drops him a paper bag. He opens it.

A hamburger and french fries. It's hard to find real foods here. Axell must have spent a lot of money.

"Thanks."

Chad munches the meal happily. He would never reject free meals.

Axell is staring him quietly. His smile lightens up his dark world. He could never look away from him.

One month later in Cafetaria...
Axell cuts a large piece of steak into smaller ones. He stabs it with a fork. He offers it to Chad.

Chad protests, "I could eat on my own."

"You hurt your arm because of me. I'll be responsible.".

His arm got hurt during their sparring together.

Chad teases, "I'm good. You don't need to buy me meals all the times. You need to save some money for your sweetheart."

"I'll feed you all my life."

Chad's ears turn red.

Why does it sound like a proposal? Axell is too serious. I just sprained my arm. It'll be better soon.

Chad coughs once before he changes the topic, "You should eat some too. Can't eat all of these delicious steak."

He stabs a fork and offers it to him.

Axell lowers his head and eats it. He smiles brightly. It's super rare to see his smile. Chad feels stunned.

A hard tap on Chad's shoulder. He nearly falls forward because of the strength.

Albert has just arrived.

He teases," Stop blinding all the single dogs around here. Don't feed them with too much dog foods. Have more pity on them."

Axell stares on the hand on Chad's shoulder. He squints his eyes. Albert notices his hostility. He smirks before he retracts his hand away.

He announces," Clarence would be transferred to administration section from tomorrow forward. He said sorry to you, Chad."

"Why? You can't stop him. It's his dream to fight the Zerg."

"A pregnant Omega has frail body. We don't want any mishap."

Chad slaps Albert's chest hard in his rage. They just got together for few weeks. And he has impregnated him. Too much pouncing and fun time.

Albert laughs before leaving. He seems happy to be a young father soon.

Chad collapses to his chair. The mission is lost. He hates to be electrocuted again.

System suddenly says in his mind, "Changes detected. Mission changed. Destroy all the predatory Zerg. Time limit: one year."

Chad looks shocked.

Axell asks worriedly, "Are you okay?"

"I hate Zergs. Hope all of them go extinct soon."

Axell looks so sad before he looks away. He stares to far distance as if thinking about something.

Chad notices it. He puts a hand on his shoulder.

He asks, "Hey. What's wrong? You could tell me."

"I've loved someone for years. It seems hopeless now."

"Has she married someone? Or got a boyfriend? "

"No. Still single."

"You still have some hope. Look at you! Handsome and stronger than some Alphas I've known. She must be blind for not wanting you."

Finally Axell smiles a little.

He asks, "Do you really think so?"

Chad nods his head repeatedly. He stabs the steak with a fork. He munches his meal happily.

Axell asks, "Could you help me? Teach me how to make him mine."

His gaze never leaves his face. Chad doesn't notice his hot glare.

Chad only nods his head.

He suggests, "Buy her chocolate, candies, flowers. Anything a woman would like."

"Chad, look at me."

Chad finally lifts his head.

Axell says bluntly, "I'm in love with another young man. He is a Beta like me."

The fork has fallen from his hand due his shock.

Axell keeps staring him straight in his eyes.

He explains, "He is like the sun in my life. He gives me light in my dark world. Giving me hope. That living isn't an endless tortures anymore."

Chad gulps.

Who is that guy? To win Axell's heart. He must be an amazing fellow.

He couldn't help and asks, "Do I know him?"

"He is like you. A cute and kind fellow. A bit silly. Everyone loves him."

Chad is silent. He envies the guy in his heart. For someone like Axell to worship him so much.

Axell suddenly asks, "I want to buy some clothes. Could you accompany me?"

"Sure. Tomorrow is our day off. I also wanna buy some clothes too."

They spent the whole day to buy some clothes in a nearby civilized planet. Chad doesn't know that Axell buys some clothes which resembles the ones he picked. Couples clothes.

They are having dinner together. Chad protests but Axell says he would pay the bills as usual.

Axell asks casually, "When should I eat meat?"

Chad stares to the lamb chops in Axell's plate.

He comments, "You are eating meat right now."

Axell got choked and he coughs for a while. He drinks his glass of wine immediately.

He corrects his sentence, "When should I eat him? After first date?"

Chad looks shocked.

Seriously? This guy is a genious in warfare tactics. He is clueless in love life.

Chad shakes his head.

He protests, "Definitely not. You need to built your relationship first. Wait few more months. After he responds back to your feelings. Rape would only make him hate you."

"I see. No wonder he hates me enough to leave me."

"What? Did you already rape him?"

"No. Not in this life. Don't mind me. I think I'm a bit drunk..."

The topic is dropped. They chat about their favorite foods and things they want to do after the war is over.

Chad couldn't help it. He is getting jealous of Axell's moonlight. He wonders what kind of man could steal his heart.
