20. Star-crossed Lovers

A horde of zombies are rushing toward them like hungry predators. The human fighters don't retreat. One of them launches few balloon condoms filled with liquids.

A wind ability user strikes the ballons in mid air. The liquid splashes toward the zombie heads. The living deads roar when their bodies decayed in rapid speed. Wrinkled and became mummies.

The humans yell happily. They have won again. Finally there is a glimpse of hope in the endless battle against zombies.

Yang Qi sniffs the air. It smells like strawberry.

He asks, "What's in the ballons?"

Xiao Yu replies, "Anti virus."

"I know. What liquid you used to mix with the anti virus?"

He withdraw a small dose of liquid from a bottle and injects himself with it. His body is burning for a while.

The humans around him are dead nervous.

One hour has passed. Nothing happened.

Yan Fei orders, "Good. Inject me next."

Yang Qi complaints, "No, not you. What if something happened? Wait for another day!"

Yan Fei glares at him.

He commands, "You heard him, Wu Qing. Inject him first."

Yang Qi gulps. He stretches his right arm when Yan Fei stares him.

Poor Yang Qi is the second test subject. Twelve men and women are next. All of them got put under surveillance afterwards.

Dry throat. High fever. It seems like they could turn into zombies anytime.

They are still humans when the next morning arrive.

The fever has been subdued.

Xiao Yu asks, "Let me take blood samples back to the lab. I'll run some tests."

Yan Fei nods his head. He leads a team of ability users to protect Wu Qing in his journey to the lab.

Mutant rats in the sewer flee from them. They are afraid of his overpowered aphrodisiac.
