We Got Each Other

2021 yearly prompt No.1: Michelle and May coping after Peter does in the snap.

Michelle wasn't sure where to go, her mom and her brother had just turned to dust in front of her...

She was close to Peter, and even though he nor Ned ever told her anything about Peters's alter-ego, she still knew. So, the suspicions of Peter jumping on that giant space donut and losing a battle was pretty big considering she just lost her family to dust.

The first person she could think of was Peter's aunt, May. But the reason she came into her mind first wasn't because she was worried about Peter, no. Aunt May was Mj's first thought because she wondered how May was coping with the loss of her Nephew.

The Parker's have lost quite a bit of family in the past... Peter's parents, Uncle Ben, now Peter himself...

If May wasn't dust, she probably wouldn't be able to survive on her own for a while longer...

And that's what worried Michelle most.

Because, if somehow, Peter and the rest of the population came back in years, then he wouldn't have any family... Then he and May would be gone...

And Michelle couldn't live without either of them.

Knocking on the door, Michelle felt her eyes become foggy.

"Hello-" Aunt May was cut short out of surprise. If anything, she expected some sort of delivery. Though, now thinking about it, it would probably take the world a while before they got everything together again.

"Michelle?" She sniffed at the poor girl. It broke her heart that there were most likely tons of children who are now left without parents. "I-" Mj took a shaky breath, trying to remain in one piece.

"I'm sorry Ms.Parker-" She choked on yet another sob. She didn't want to break down in front of May... She couldn't even imagine what it had been like for the Parkers. "I... I didn't know where else to go-" Michelle's voice started to quiver more and more.

May didn't let her finish. Hugging her, May had choked on tears herself... She felt so, so sorry for Mj.

And that's where it started.

It was hard getting to live together, but over time, they learned a lot about each other. It was nice living together. So you could only imagine how hard it was to split up five years later.

They had the company of their family back... but missed something about being in a comfortable silence while reading. Or maybe it was how they always laughed about the kitchen getting set on fire.

But at least they both know that if anything was to happen to them, May had Mj and Mj had May.

And at least May had spent years preparing her speech for Peter and Michelle's wedding. They weren't fooling anyone.
