I sat on my bed as I waited for the camp leaders to pick me up. My suitcases sat beside me with all of my things that I deemed important and all my clothes stuffed inside. I took a look around my mostly empty room. It was a pale blue color with a twin bed, dresser, matching bedside tables, and a semi walk-in closet. The ensuite bathroom was pristine white, no sign of the blood that had been spilled there remlained. A gentle knocking on my door drew my attention as my mother walked into the room.
"Well, they're here now. Take your things and leave. I only hope that by the time you are finished all of these foolish notions will be gone. Run along and don't cause these people any trouble." My mother, Susan, stated. I silently picked up my bags and left, not before flipping her the bird though. A flash of amusement rippled through me at her shocked gasp but I said nothing. Two large, muscular, men met me at the bottom of the stairs both of them had the same sympathetic look on their faces causing me to glare at them. I certainly did not want their pity.
"Are you ready to go Mrs. Anderson?" Asked the guard on the left. I gave a nod of confirmation. They led me out of the car and opened the door for me. The camp that I was being sent to was supposed to be a camp to send kids for outdoor adventure and fun but I was not fooled. In reality, it was just a place for parents to send kids that they were no longer interested in taking care of. A place for the insane, psycotic, and messed up kids. No one really cared though. As long as it kept up a good front and kept them away from all of the 'normal' people then no one cared. I stared out of the window as the scenery passed by, changing from the crowds, pavement, and skyscrapers of the city to fields, lakes, and eventually, forest. It took well over three hours, but at last, the car pulled up to the camp. At the center was a large brick building surrounded by about ten smaller log cabins. I waited for my door to be unlocked as there were no handles on the inside. Another muscular man came out of the house followed closely by a tall woman who were met with the guards. I would've listened to their conversation but they were out of earshot, not that I really cared anyways. Eventually, the woman walked up to the car and opened the door, allowing me to get out.
"Welcome to Camp Harlock." She said in a sweet motherly tone. "My name is Kianna but you can call me Kai." I nod in acknowledgement. Her smile did not waver. "Well, Layla, you can follow me. We just have to fill out some paperwork and then I'll let you get settled and acquainted with your can mates." Not even bothering to nod this time I simply stare stare straight ahead of me as I follow Kai down the hall. I probably wasn't being fair to her, after all, she did nothing, but I was still in a sour mood and didn't care enough to do anything at the moment. She opened a door, motioning me inside before handing me several papers and a pen. "Once you sign these for me I'll fill out the rest and we can be finished here." I silently complied, not having enough energy to be difficult. After what felt like hours but had probably only been ten minutes, Kai placed the file in a cabinet which she then locked and shut before leading me outside. At first glance the 'camp' looked just that, like a normal everyday summer camp. But, once you took a closer look, it's true nature was evident. The perimeter was surrounded by a tall chain link fence. The only entrance was through the equally tall gate with a padlock dangling from one side and four guards in casual dress. The fenced in area stopped short of the lake behind the cabins and not a single tree grew from the ground. Yes, it was very clear that this place, was ment to hold people in, not keep people out. Even behind Kai's warm smile was a sort of defence. Her stance told tales of her fighting skill and the gun in her pocket mad it clear that she was no easy win. It would take nothing less of a miracle to escape this prison. Luckily, I had a few tricks up my sleeve and hopefully they will be enough to get me out of this place before I snap.
