More and more people came to Sodor, meaning more and more work was put on the engines. Everyone had to work very hard. The trucks complained plenty, but they always do that. The coaches complained too. No sooner than they were done with one trip, they were stuffed up again and sent on another trip.

"No one says we don't like hard work," Henry said in the sheds, "But..."

"We draw the line at goods trains," Gordon continued

"Those dirty trucks in dirty sidings. Yuck!" grumbled James

"Stop your complaining," Duck said at last, "I remember on the Great Western Railway..."

"That tin-pot railway." Gordon interrupted.

"Tin-pot indeed!" Duck wheeshed, "Let me tell you..."

"Silence!" Ordered Sir Topham Hatt, "A new engine from Scotland will come to the island to help with goods tomorrow."

The news was brought with cheers and whistles.
