"Mama?"

"Mama?"

I heard a tiny voice whisper, as a very sleepy Rowan waddled over to me with his eyes half closed and attached himself to my leg, holding his stuffed monkey in his right hand.

"Mama up" He quietly said, still swaying in his place from sleepiness, looking absolutely adorable.

My eyes and face completely softened and I picked him up, placing him on my hip with his head on my shoulder.

He immediately buried his face in my neck and sniffed a little. He gently grabbed the ends of my hair in his little hands once his arms were around my neck and played with the soft chestnut brown locks, his stuffie now on the ground, seemingly forgotten.

He only held the stuffed monkey if I wasn't near him. If I was, he would just abandon his stuffed toy and latch himself onto me.

One of my hands supported his head and the other went around his torso protectively as I gently rocked him back and forth to make him fall back asleep.

If it wasn't very obvious, I acted like a fucking mama bear near this child. He is my own now.

I looked up to see everyone staring at me. Some in awe and some in shock.

I looked around the room confused when I didn't see Preston, but then I remembered he had to go back to LA to grab his stuff and bring all the other teens here.

"I know this child did not just call you that." Gramps sputtered.

"Yeah definitely. The old age is getting to us and we have a hearing problem now." Grandpa nodded along.

"You heard it correctly, Mr Rossi and Don Costanov." Phoenix raised an eyebrow at them.

Phoenix had come over a few times before, to discuss Alana and his father's location. On his second visit, he met Rowan properly.

Safe to say he had developed a soft spot for this little boy in my arms in a very short amount of time.

Shockingly, Rowan seemed to like him too, but the little kid was too possessive to let him come closer to me.
