A/N: This is one of my favorite works, and I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I loved writing it! <3

The chimes of the bell signaled the arrival of a customer, and [Name], who was in the back room working on an order called out, “I’ll be out in a minute! Please feel free to look around!”

Hastily putting the unfinished wreath down on the worktable, she rushed out to the front of the shop, straightening out her apron. “I’m sorry! I was working on a customer’s order! How may I he-”

Upon catching a glance at the customer who was currently facing away from her, looking at the stands of flowers, her eyes widened as she tentatively asked, “Jean? Is that you?”

The male before her turned around when he heard his name and his face lit up in recognition, a big smile appearing on his visage.

“[Name]! I haven’t seen you since high school!”

“Its so great to see you again, Jean!” She exclaimed, giving him a friendly hug. “I miss hanging out with you and Marco so much!”

Shocked at her actions, he patted her back awkwardly, a light blush coating his cheeks. “I missed you too, [Name].”

Pulling away from him, she punched him lightly on the arm, and glared playfully at him. “If you did, you would have kept in contact, and at least make an effort to reply to my messages, horseface.”

“Sorry [Name], Art College has been really stressful.” Jean groaned, throwing an arm over her shoulder, which she easily shrugged off.

’Just like old times~’ He thought to himself, snickering internally before he voiced out, “How come you’re working here anyways?”

“You know, get some extra income and all that… So, I saw you looking at the flowers just now. Planning on getting a bouquet for a girl?” [Name] nudged his side, her eyes twinkling with mirth.

“Actually…” Jean trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck, “I’m actually getting some flowers for my mum. I haven’t visited her in a while, and her birthday is tomorrow.”

“That’s so sweet! Do you have anything in mind? Or would you like me to pick something out for you?”

“I was thinking of getting red and pink carnations…”

“Red for admiration, and pink symbolizing unforgettable love. That’s a great choice for a mother,” [Name] mused, as she picked out the nicest flowers for him.

Going over to the counter, she expertly arranged the carnations, snipping of the ends and tying them together, before wrapping them up nicely.

As [Name] worked, Jean kept up a light-hearted conversation with her, making her laugh at his stupid jokes.

“All done!” She smiled brightly as she held out the bouquet to him. “We have some birthday cards to go with your bouquet. Do you need one?”

“I already written a card and made a drawing for her,” Jean replied, as he took the bouquet, admiring her work.

“AWWW, Jean! I didn’t know you were such a Mummy’s boy~” [Name] squealed.

Rolling his eyes, Jean passed her a few notes. “Yeah yeah. Just take my money already.”

“Dude, we’ve been here for hours, and I’m already finishing my second cup of coffee. How much longer are you going to wait?”

“Just a little longer…” Jean mumbled, resting the side of his face on his palm as he stared out of the large window of the café he was sitting in, his eyes focused on the small flower shop across the street.
