It is extremely easy for kids/teens to be persuaded into doing things they know they are not supposed to do. In my case I watched my four best friends be pressured into taking all kinds of drugs and alcohol. I tried and tried to get them to stop, but the thing is when they make their minds up there is no stopping them.Mistake number 3 not trying harder to stop my friends from taking and drinking these things. I had many people offer me random drugs and drinks. I of course denied not only because I was supposed to be the designated driver, but I personally have never been interested in any of this stuff. I will admit saying no was hard not because I wanted to take it, but because everyone around me was either drunk or high.
I felt like I was suffocating from all the smoke in the building, so I decided to go outside and get some fresh air. I take about 5 minutes to myself before heading back inside. Once I'm inside I try to scout out my friends so I can try to convince them to leave. It was almost like they disappeared because I could not find them anywhere, at this point worst case scenarios start going through my head and I start to freak out. Right in the middle of my little panic attack I feel a tap on my shoulder. I was hesitant to turn around because I did not want to deal with any of these random people at the moment, but I knew I had to turn around. As I turn around a wave of relief hits me as I see Celeste.
All that relief and happiness that I was feeling quickly changed to anger as I noticed the state Celeste was in. She and probably the other three were intoxicated. She could Barely stand up and walk on her own. Right before I started to say something to her I heard, " Everyone out now the police are here." I instinctively grab Celeste by the arm and we run out. I did not have time to find the others. I could only hope that they did not get caught and they are ok. Celeste and I manage to get to the car before the police see us. I manage to put Celeste in the car before going to get the other girls.
I am frantically trying to find Alex, Taylor, and Abby when a police officer stops me. He is asking me questions about the party and the only choice I had was to lie and say I was just in the area. I hated lying to the cop but if I told him the truth I would be getting not only me but all my friends in trouble. Mistake number 4 not telling the truth. After that I decided that I should just drive around to look for them, so I make my way to the car. As I walk to the car I see that there are more people in the car, I do not know when or how they got to the car but I am very thankful that they got there safely.
I immediately get in the car and drive off. Anger so much anger, disappointment in not only myself, but my friends. Once I got far enough away I stopped the car on the side of the road. In this moment anger took over which made me do something so out of character, "I AM SO ANGRY WITH ALL OF YOU! WHAT MADE YOU THINK GETTING DRUNK AND HIGH WAS A GOOD IDEA! YOU DO KNOW THAT SOMEONE COULD HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF YOU?! I SHOULD HAVE NEVER AGREED TO THIS BECAUSE IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED I WOULD NEVER FORGIVE MYSELF!" I honestly do not think they even knew what was going on, so it was like yelling at a wall. I calm myself down and start the car back up and drive off.
