It was a while before I started to come back to reality. "Where exactly are we going?" I questioned Nicholas.

"We're following Matthew's scent," He responded. "I'm assuming that you'd like to Matthew back."

"We both kind of assumed that you'd agree to that," Interjected Mary.

They knew me well.

"Of course," said Mary, "They're about a few hours ahead of us because we didn't start to follow them right away."

"They're idiots to think we couldn't just follow their scent right to Evelina," Nicholas chuckled.

I didn't want to listen to their blabber anymore. All I could think about was the sudden adrenaline pumping through my nerves. We were going to attack Evelina. This was it.

"Ok," I interrupted Mary speaking a few moments later, "How long do you think?"

Mary thought for a moment, then said, "We haven't got a clue. I'd just concentrate on doing that cool and incredibly useful thing where you can predict the future without sleeping."

The rest of the journey on Nicholas's back was not notable. I was focusing on my powers.

After a while, I realized something. Where was Matthew? In a cell? In a comfortable room? Where was Evelina? In an office? A lounge? A kitchen with my family members? Torturing my family members? Inside of a dark grey high facility with no windows and surrounded by a misty haze?

After a while I saw unclearly saw that there would be death. A gun would shoot someone. My vision was hazy. I don't know why it wasn't very clear. All I could get were emotions and blurry pictures. It was like trying to remember a dream that's on the verge of being forgotten.

Mary shook me. "Lily! Wake up!" She whispered urgently. I was standing on the ground but slumped over. We were at the edge of the forest. Ahead there was a clearing, and then a mansion. I remember having a dream about it a long time ago. It was around 3 years ago. I had entered it, took Matthew, and left. Then we lived happily ever after until the dream ended. Is that what I was about to do now? I hoped so.

They decided to split up. Mary would go looking for Matthew while Nicholas and I went looking for President Evelina.

When we entered, Mary took the stairs downstairs to what looked like the basement. Nicholas and I started looking around the floor we were on. I was kind of surprised that the front door was unlocked. I was beginning to think that we were falling into a trap.

"Lily," Nicholas whispered, "I hear her talking on the other side of that door." He pointed to a set of double doors past what looked like an abandoned kitchen. "I will lift you up so you don't make any noise with your loud

To the left, in a corner, I saw Matthew sitting on hard wood tied up. He was beaten up, I could see bruises all over him. His shirt was partially torn. He was looking at me. I didn't want to look at him like that. It was painful. So I turned back to President Evelina. That's when I started to wonder. What was going to happen to Mary? She had no purpose now.

Her face was almost surprised. "Lily! Why are you here? To save your boyfriend?" She chuckled. I glared at her. Then she studied Nicholas. "You look familiar. Did you win the Fight For Animals one year?"
