You look so wonderful in your dress
I love your hair like that

The way it falls on the side of your neck

Down your shoulders and back

Stuffing his hands into his Samezuka team jacket, Rin stood up to get out of the train. Casually making his way out of the station, he barely took three steps out into the fresh air when he felt a body collide into his, causing him to stumble back a little.

Over the sound of a file falling to the ground, Rin heard a soft gasp, which soon followed by a thud.

He was about to snap at the person who ran into him like that, when he noticed a girl on the ground in front of him, holding on tightly to a long black case against her chest.

“Tsk… You alright?” He asked as he offered her a hand up.

“Y-yeah I’m fine,” she muttered, gingerly taking his hand as he hauled her up with a little too much strength, causing her to stumble into his hard chest.

Rin chuckled as she hastily jumped away, mumbling a quick apology as she dusted some dirt off her uniform before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. That simple action brought his attention to her silky smooth [h/c] tresses, and the way they framed her face perfectly. Her bright [e/c] eyes were lined with long lashes, and her cheeks were tinted with a blush.

Noticing that he was staring at her, she bit her lip slightly before shyly glancing up at him. “I have to go now... I’m so sorry for bumping into you!”

Their eyes locked for less than a second, when she ran off after saying a short goodbye, leaving him with no clue of who this shy angel was.

Sighing to himself, he was about to walk off in the other direction when his feet came in contact with something. A file.

Picking it up, he flipped it open and read out to himself, “[Full Name], Year 2, Iwatobi High School, Flute Section.”

We are surrounded by all of these lies

And people who talk too much

You got the kind of look in your eyes

As if no one knows anything but us

The next day, late in the afternoon, with a black file in hand, the maroon-haired male could be seen strolling down the nearly empty hallways of Iwatobi High as if he owned the place.

He came to a stop outside the music room, and peering through the glass at the top part of the door, he saw her.

Twisting the doorknob, he cracked the door open a little, and was taken aback by the music that reached his ears. Entering the room, he closed the door quietly and leaned against it, looking at her side profile, since her body was slightly angled away from the door.

Her fingers moved nimbly over the polished silver flute, her body swaying slightly as she let the music take over, expressive phrases emitting out of the shiny instrument as if the music were pouring out of her soul.

Rin was terrible at playing music. But one thing he knew for sure was that she was extremely talented. He could feel the emotion, the passion as the melody graced his ears, the soft vibratos ringing in his head as the song came to an end.

[Name] jumped in shock when she heard clapping, since she thought she was the only one in the room. “W-What are you doing here?”

He held out her file. “This is yours, right?”

Her eyes widened as she saw her file. She had searched everywhere, but couldn’t find it. And the file had really important and memorable scores with marks and annotations scribbled on top.

Sitting down on the chair beside her, he passed her the file and watched as her face turned into one of relief, a small smile appearing on her face. And for some reason, he found himself smiling because of that.

“Thank you… Er-“

“Rin. My name is Rin Matsuoka.”

“Matsuoka…? Are you Gou’s brother?!”

“I am. In fact, she was the one who told me to find you here.”

“I see… Thank you, Rin.” She smiled brightly, “all of these scores mean a lot to me.”

He flashed his sharp teeth at her in a toothy grin, “You’re really talented you know, [Name]”

A small blush rose in her cheeks and Rin probed, “How come the scores are so important? Aren’t they just papers with notes?”

“Every single score holds some special memory for me.” She laughed quietly, “I could go on and on about this so-“

“I’ve got time.” Rin interrupted her. “I’ve got all the time in the world.”
