It started snowing heavier.

Nezuko left with Shinobu. She mentioned that she had a mansion where she would take care of them and train Nezuko to become a demon slayer. The cold air was freezing her lungs. She coughed to try to get rid of the icy taste in her throat but that just made it worse for her.

Shinobu could see the girl struggling. "I see the cold air is bothering you. Breathe deeper to allow optimal blood flow so you're not bothered by the air as much. We will be stopping at a rest point up north so we can hid your brother from the sun as it wont snow forever." Shinobu talked so professional that it almost scared her. The way her words and voice sounded like she was commanding her.

Nezuko became curious of how long it would take to get there, as there were no signs of life anywhere, just trees. Where they where walking seemed random, as after they left her house to bury her own family and clean her and her brother up, they didn't go down the mountain, but went behind their house and into the forest. It felt so sickly and horrifying to have to bury her family with her own hands and as she had cleaned up her house with Shinobu, she kept telling herself this was just a nightmare and that she'll wake up to her family at breakfast, and Tanjiro as a human.

Nezuko suddenly snapped out of her thoughts and though back to the question that stared them in the first place. "Shinobu-san? How long will it take for us to get to our rest point?"

"Since the rest point was about half the time from here to my estate, I'm guessing about 45 minutes."

Oh. She hoped for it to be sooner as she swore the cold was killing her, but the gods put yet another hardship ahead of her. Nezuko knew that she couldn't stop now, as her late family would look down on her with disappointment after giving up and Tanjiro suffering as a demon for the rest of his life. She didn't want him to have to endure anymore pain as the death of their father was already hard for him on top of the death of the rest of their family. All he had left was Nezuko, now taking responsibility over him with Tanjiro becoming a demon now. Nezuko knew Tanjiro would tell her to never give up and always push towards the goal, he's always been telling her that.

Nezuko turned around to face Tanjiro following behind her, pulling a small but determined smile across her face, silently telling him that everything will always be alright. Tanjiro nodded back to her, almost knowing exactly what she said. Softening her smile, she turned back around, picking up her pace to stay behind the agile Shinobu. I guess demons don't get set back by this weather, she noticed after looking back at her brother. He seemed like it was only a light breeze and not a snowing mess that seemed to only get worse.

Nezuko was exaggerating, as it was just a flurry now and not the blazing snow it was 5 minutes ago. Of course, that wont stop her from believing that she'll pass out from restricted air flow from the cold air clogging her throat.
