"What's up Kurt? You look lost in your thoughts!" Kurt looked up quickly, noticing his father's eyes lingering on him. He let out a small sigh as he came to sit beside his father, who has sat himself in the living room to watch Saturday football, only an hour ago.

"I'm fine. Just a lot on my mind." Kurt shrugged. He glanced at his watch, noting his friends would be here in a few short hours.

Burt only looked at him. "Kurt." He turned in his chair to face him. "I know when your lying. Somethings bothering you what is it?"

Kurt defeated, his shoulders slumping knowing his father knew him best. He had since he was little, it freaked Kurt out he could practically read his mind.

"A boy at school."

Burt's eyebrows raised up. "A boy?"

"Yes. He's so complicated." Kurt huffed thinking of the curly haired boy, his step-brother was suddenly becoming friends with.

"I see. What's he like?" Burt questioned. He had never seen his boy looking so lost and confused. "Why's he complicated?"

"I'm not quite sure yet. But anytime I try and f-flirt with him, he immediately says no, and I just don't know why? Something has happened to him because he's this bad boy and I feel like there's more than what he's saying. I don't know- maybe I'm just looking into it to much?"

"No. He's probably got a past Kurt, just like you, just wait till he comes to you. Don't pressure him about anything." Burt smiled. "Just be yourself."

"Thanks dad." Kurt smiled giving his father a tight hug before letting him go.

"Anytime kiddo." Burt replied. "Now, what time are Santana, Quinn and Brittany arriving?"

"In an hour." Kurt replied. "I need to go get everything ready, call for me when they arrive."

"Of course- will do kiddo!" He turned back to his tv screen relaxing into a football game before his house becomes filled with a bunch of teenage girls and boys. "Hey Kurt!"

"Yeah dad?" Stopping just before he went downstairs.

"If you ever hear of someone needing a job, I have an opening for a high school student to help me, pays minimum and has decent hours."

Kurt smiled nodding his head. "Okay!" And then left downstairs.

Carole had caught the afternoon shift at the hospital, and wouldn't be home for another couple hours, which left Burt able to lounge around the house for a while.

"Cooper! You really don't need to take me to his house, I'm sure I can find my way there!"

"No! I am taking you end of discussion. I know you and your tricks, don't think I know that if you drive their yourself you won't actually go there." Cooper responded. "Now grab your duffel bag and hurry up! You don't want to be late."

"Fine." He said defeated. He picked his duffel bag up, filled with his overnight clothes, and the alcohol he'd stoled from his older brother.

Cooper and the younger brother headed to the vehicle, Blaine stuck the bag in the backseat before getting into the front seat and closing the door. Cooper started the car off and not long later they were off driving down the street.

"This is a great family! You'll like them." Cooper started talking. "They own the tire and mechanic shop across town. I've met the father plenty of times. Very nice gentleman-"

"Why are you telling me this?" Blaine asked suddenly, staring out the window.

"Just trying to make you not so uncomfortable around them." Cooper said. "Don't do anything stupid please."
