Burt's eyes followed between the two boys. It was Friday night. He had invited Blaine, and Cooper and all over for some dinner, especially since Blaine started working for him, and he hadn't spoken to Cooper for while. Except the glaring his son was sending to the young Anderson boy made him want to cringe a little. He didn't know that they didn't get along very well. As soon as the boy had walked into his house he had noticed his cheek was purple and bruised like someone had slammed him- but he knew it had something to do with his own son. He shook his head trying to rid the thoughts, and then smiled at his fiancé, soon to be wife in a short month or so.
"-Dad, can you pass the potatoes please?" Kurt asked impatiently, interrupting the older mans thoughts. He smiled and nodded passing them over, which Kurt took a happy helping of. "Thank you."
"Of course." Burt smiled taking a bite of his own supper. He still couldn't help the tension and awkwardness displayed between the boys.
Carole grinned. "So Cooper how is the law lifestyle going for you?" She turned towards him.
Cooper smiled, sitting up a bit more as he quickly chewed his bite of chicken. "It's going great thank you- business is running smoothly- and how is the hospital?"
"Great!" Carole smiled obviously excited to talk about work. "There building another nursing station, so that'll be exciting!"
"Oh how wonderful." Catherine added, turning to April to give her a bite of food.
"How old is she Catherine?" Carole asked cooing at the little girl who happily accepted a piece of food.
"She's one and a half." Catherine answered, smiling at her. April seemingly liking the sudden attention she had. Carole chuckled.
"She's just adorable." Carole smiled before the table was suddenly quiet again, Finn on one side practically sucking back all the food on the table, Blaine and Kurt were seated across from each other, Blaine had barely even touched any of his food on the plate.
"Is the food okay dear? I can make you something else-" Carole began at the boy poking his food.
Blaine's head shot up surprised someone had spoken to him. He shook his head. "No- it's perfect Carole. It tastes good- just a lot on my mind I guess."
"Oh really?" Kurt practically snarled from across the table ignoring the warning look from Burt. Blaine looked over at the boy, frowning.
"Kurt-" Burt warned.
"No Dad. We need to talk about this now, don't we Blaine?" He turned away from his father to look directly at Blaine who's eyes were wide.
"Not now Kurt."
"Wait you mean you don't want to tell them?"
"Kurt..."
4 hours previous..
"Kurt I need to tell you something right now!"
Kurt rolled his eyes turning to the girl. "What do you want big nose?"
The girl frowned. "Well- I was at the bar scandals-" Kurt's eyes raised surprised. "Don't ask why! And I was just enjoying my drink and whatever, then I looked at the dance floor and- there they were dancing and flirting up a storm! Practically all over each other!"
Kurt narrowed his eyes. "Who was?"
"Santana and Blaine!" She hushed quietly looking around afraid someone would hear her. Kurt frowned.
"And why should I believe a nobody?"
"I have never lied to you Kurt! You know! We used to be friends before everything happened- I promise I'm not lying! I don't know if you and him are dating or whatever but I thought you should know."
