Best friends brother (and a whole lot of drama)

Chapter Twenty Two, telling him.

"Onward my noble steed!" I yelled, throwing my arm ahead of me and over Chris' shoulder where I was on his back.

School had ended and we'd decided we didn't want to just hang around at either of our houses so we were just wandering around town, at some point I'd jumped onto Chris' back, wrapping my legs around his waist and arms around his shoulders. We were currently on our way to meet Maia at work where she started at two thirty and it was now three.

"Oh shut it" Chris made to drop me, making he clutch at his clothes like a spider and he laughed at me as he adjusted my body on his back.

"Ice cream? Can we please get ice cream while we're there?"

"Yeah why not" he attempted to shrug but gave up after realizing the weight of my own arms prevented him.

"Yes!" I cheered as Chris walked into the nearly empty ice cream shop.

"Maia" I called from the counter to get her attention rather than anyone else.

"Oh" she said in surprise "hey Roy, hi babe" she leaned over the counter to press a kiss to Chris' lips, I pinched his ear.

"I'm right here" I said making them laugh.

"What can I get you guys?" She asked, readjusting her uniform.

"Same as always" I grinned.

"Coming right up"

Maia busied herself with getting us out ice-creams and quickly brought them back to us, Chris payed and I eventually got off of his back to we could settle into some chairs. Chris watched Maia as she hurried around, getting ice-cream to different customers, the look in his eyes made me think. I wondered if I'd ever look at anyone like that, if Max would be the one I'd look at like that one way, he already looked at me with something similar, but not quite the same.

"Hey, you good Roy?" Chris said around a mouthful of ice-cream.

"Oh, uh yeah yeah I'm fine, just...just tired" I let my thoughts fade as my focus went back to Chris.

"Long day?"

"Yeah, just a lot of stuff in math" I sighed "and I've got some work I need to finish for tomorrow" I mumbled as I licked my cone.

"I'll walk you home then, common" he stood and I followed.

We said bye to Maia and left. The air was getting colder as September was coming to an end and October was closing in on us. Chris and I walked side by side while we ate our ice-cream in silence.

"So..." Chris started, kicking a pebble.

"So" I mimicked and he smiled down at me.

"Something happened" He beamed "again" his dimples popped out and I groaned, knowing his dimples only appeared when he was really really happy.

"And What is that something?" I asked, knowing I was throwing myself down the hole to hell.

"Maia and I did-"

"I'm gonna have to stop you right there mister!" I interjected, throwing a finger up in his face.

"But-"

"No I get it, y'all did the nasty again"

"It's not-"

"Says you, you're the one doing it"

"But we-"

"Don't you dare say y'all made love, cause I'm gonna puke if you do"

"But we did make love" he said quick enough for me to not be able to stop him.
