We were happy, free and in love
Sauntering the streets of Colon
When the sun was at its peak
Til the appearance of the moon
That was in January, dove
But it didn't last through
Cause it turned kind of bleak
Three months preceding JuneBefore me, red flags were waving
TV reports of you being bad
I kept hearing townspeople say
"Stay away from that sick lad"
I didn't heed their warning
Turned a blind eye on the news
I love you and I couldn't stay away
But if I did, I wouldn't be kept from the outside viewI wished for time to turn back
I'm masked with sheer dejection
Half my face unseen by my clique
And face shielded with acrylic contrition
What we have, morphed into something dark
So foreign, unknown, untrue
What you do on a pandemic
You do when your heart breaks tooChilly December night, the memories were playing
Of how lovely we were before
The year of twenty, two, zero
Was sad yet we can do nothing anymore

Verses of a Versifier (A Compilation of Poems)
PoetryThis book is a collection of my poems. They either sprang from my hatred, or love, or a song, or from my admiration of the cosmos, or from my longing for Momma, or any other things. I'm no Shakespeare, or Browning, or Poe so bear with my verses. :)
