⬻Maggie⤖

Maggie woke up with a heavy limb covering her legs. She turned her head to the side and moved her hair off her face. Her first glimpse was of Damien's body lying across the bed and intertwined with hers. The pillows he made as a wall were gone and his half naked body was tightly wrapped around hers, as if to protect her from the world. She lifted her hand and placed it on his shoulder. She smiled inwardly to herself, I could get used to this. He's definitely not Sam.

She looked at him as he slept contently, a little snore coming out of his nose every few seconds. She laughed out into the room and looked down his body. He had rolled over onto her at some point, his ass in the air and tight muscles holding her in place. She felt the urge to kiss him there in that moment but instead challenged herself not to.

Maggie lifted his heavy limbs off her gingerly and heard Damien sigh and then roll onto his back.  She ran to the bathroom and readied herself for the day. Her steps to the kitchen were light and she felt calmer than usual. She looked around the house and took in the decor. On the walls she found pictures of Damien with his family, including ones from his childhood with his brother, Matt. He had shared a part of himself with her, a stranger. He opened up to show her it was okay. Maybe he could help, after all.

She wandered around looking at all the nick nacks and more family pictures. She came to a big family picture of Damien with his family and other members sitting and standing around a grandmother figure. They all beamed love and gratitude out of the picture. She scanned it and found her friend Ellie standing next to Damien. Her bright and youthful smile warmed Maggie's chest. God, I miss her. I wonder what's she's been up to.

Maggie thought back to the last time she saw Ellie. It had to be after the funeral. Maggie touched the frame and brushed a piece of dust off the corner. Ellie had been her best friend. Her confident, her strength throughout their college experience. When Maggie's mother passed Maggie left campus and fell into her depression. The last she heard about Ellie was that she was working internationally for a marketing firm. The international business woman, probably loving every second.

A knock on the porch door stopped her thoughts and she turned to see who was there. She moved with hesitation at first thinking it could be someone who meant harm. She quickly shook it off and chastised herself for thinking so negatively. The knock came again and a female voice called out, "Hello, anyone home? It's Kaye". Who's Kaye?

She made her way to the door and unlocked it. As she opened it the woman on the porch turned and smiled, a bag of food in her hand.  The smile dropped when she saw Maggie standing in the doorway. The stranger was beautiful, tanned skin, long black hair and a bright fuchsia flower in her hair.

"Hi, yeah, I'm looking for Damien", she started to say and then began to open screen door. Maggie watched her struggle to open it as it was locked.

"Who are you?" came out harsher than Maggie had wanted but she eyed the woman. She wore very short shorts and a tube top that showed off her ample cleavage.

"Excuse me, but could please unlock the door, I'd like to see Damien," the stranger gripped her bag more tightly and puffed out with irritation.

Maggie looked back into the house and wondered why Damien hadn't told her about the stranger coming over this morning.

"Please let me in", she was irritated but Maggie didn't know who she was. Stranger danger, high alert.

"Again, who are? And why do you think Damien is here?" Maggie asked with another look sizing up this rude woman.

"Who am I?" she shrieked out loud. "Who I am doesn't concern you haole, where is Damien?" She began to bang on the door to get it to open.

"What did you call me?" Maggie looked at her perplexed. What kind of woman is Damien into? Lord, what are you getting yourself into now Margaret.
