You walked through the door into a smaller room with a dining table set for 2 and a portable grill in the middle surrounded by plates of raw meats, vegetables, and sauces that were just finished being placed by the waiter who bowed and stepped out.
Jimin walked over to one side of the table and pulled the chair back for you and you flash him a charmed smile to which he responded with a suddenly shy blush and you sit down. huh...
'I guess we're having Korean BBQ! Have you ever tried it?'
I'm still obsessed with how kind and adorable he is... god what is happening to me...
'No I've actually never been to Korea before or had Korean food,' you admitted to the boy who now looks like an excited puppy. *cough* I meant young man.
'Well you're going to love it!' He started putting the raw meat on the grill and they start to sizzle like it's music to your ears and you can already smell how delicious they're going to be, making your stomach grumble.
You watch him doing this, unintentionally noticing the angles of his hands, his muscle and blue veins being accentuated by his grip on the chopsticks. You think to yourself how entirely loveably cute and simultaneously too hot to handle he is as you admire his graceful movements.
No y/n, Kara said not to think this way about him.
How can putting meat on a grill make me so flustered?
It's probably just my stomach talking because he's making FOOD for me.
You try to encourage yourself in your head to not fall for someone you can never have again.
It was earlier that year when your view of BTS changed. Love seemed dangerous to you after falling in love with someone who didn't love you back and never would in the way you wanted. You drowned your sorrows in BTS videos - their laughter made you happy, but it also made you feel even more alone.
This wasn't the start of your depression, it was just when you accepted it.
You decided you couldn't handle looking at the boys' gleamingly handsome faces after realizing every time you saw pictures of them you shouted at yourself internally, 'shut up. Shut up!' It wasn't to their faces, it was to your own heart. You wanted someone cheerful to make you feel better and always be by your side like you watched them be for each other. Kara had always been there for you. She helped you get through a lot. But there was always something missing that you couldn't find through a friend... but you couldn't put your finger on it...
Jimin's POV
As you were putting the meat on the BBQ you could see Y/n watching your hands intently and you couldn't help raise an eyebrow as you unintentionally started imagining her thoughts. You struggled to hold in a full-on laugh when she slapped her face to get out of it.
As you finished with the meat, you had a curious idea and one that fulfilled your new desire for contact so you just went with it. You held out your hand, 'Wanna see who has smaller hands?'
She perked up to grin at you with a slight glint in her eye. 'Heck yeah. I've always wanted to see how small your hands are.' You pout at her mischievous words and she brings her hand up against yours. The soft contact felt like your skin was going alight with a soul-soothing warmth and your breath caught in your throat. No, don't be weird Jiminie. But... this feeling is what's weird.
Y/n felt the same soothing warmth bubble up across her palm and her mind rushed with too many jumbled thoughts to decipher all at once. She almost lost herself in the feeling until an all too familiar and adorable boy giggled.
