A/n: Listen to the song above.

'Y/N WATCH OUT!'

Screeeeeech.

Bam. 'Mommy, daddy, it hurts.' Flames. Burning rubber. Burning flesh. Sirens. 'I'm sorry my children...' Last breaths.

You cried. And cried. And you couldn't breath but you cried. Even when your voice was gone, you cried. You clung onto the shirt of the man whose arms were around you and whose voice shushed you soothingly.

Jimin had pulled you off the road as the car screeched past just inches from your face. You didn't mean to walk into the road. You've been walking for hours lost in thought.

You were contemplating giving up on your life dream before almost losing your life like you should have in the first place.

'I love you, my fami- BOOM.' Crying. Screaming. The voices of the past came back to you.

'Y/n...' Your parents tried to say something to you, muffled, too muffled, you couldn't understand.

'Y/n... y/n... You are safe now. I have you. It's ok. Everything's all right now.'

You couldn't breath. It felt like you weren't on Earth anymore. You were with them. You almost let yourself slip away when Jimin's voice got through to you and you were pulled back to him.

'Jimin...'

You released his tear-drenched shirt to wrap your arms around him for dear life.

'Y/n...'

He led you back to the dorms. As he guided you with an arm tightly around your back like you would fall over without him, your tears dried and your swirling thoughts slowed. You came back to reality and realised that you had just had a panic attack.

'I'm sorry...' Your voice was horse and tickled as you spoke.

'Don't apologise.'

You sighed and turned to bury your face in Jimin's chest again.

'I just walked right into the street!' You almost laughed.

'But then...' You looked up into his eyes, questioning. 'You were there...?' You searched for an explanation.

'I followed you.'

'Oh...'

'I just thought—'

'You don't need to give an excuse, I understand.'

You let go and dried your eyes and running nose in your sleeve.

'Come on, let's go home.' And Jimin hailed a taxi to take you back to the dorms. You got to the door of their apartment but Jimin held you back.

'I want to show you something.'

And so you let him lead you up some stairs. At the top of them stood a door with a small window that let streams of orange light through. He unlatched and opened it, letting in a warm breeze. He flipped on a switch before moving from in front of you so you could see the view.

There stood cushions and couches, fairy lights and potted flowers, and beyond it all spectacular views over Seoul. The sun was low in the sky, lighting the place in hues of deep orange and pink. It felt magical. It felt like you just moved from a nightmare to a dream.

Jimin took your hand, guiding you over to it.

'Jimin... this is...' you could hardly form a sentence.

'Amazing, right?' he finished for you and you nodded.

You moved around the place, admiring the blooming flowers, the soft furnishings and fairy lights, but most of all the love that was put into every last detail. Absolutely delighted, you turned back to Jimin who was watching you contently.

'This place is beautiful,' you said.

'You are beautiful.' He stood with his hands in his pockets and said this without skipping a beat. You knew he meant it.

'Even with red eyes and puffy cheeks?' You laughed, covering your face.

'Yes, even with your red eyes and puffy cheeks.' He stepped up to remove your hands from your face and hold them tightly.

'Even with your scars. The physical ones and the not so physical ones.' He ran his fingers along the side of your neck with the scar. The feeling flashed back memories from when you were half asleep last night. You didn't mind that he knew. You were maybe even comforted by it.

'He has seen the worst of me: my scars and the effect my past had on me. And he still calls me beautiful?'  You thought, a smile forming on your face and a warmth in your chest.

'How is Jimin so good at making me feel loved?' You were truly so grateful for him.

As your heart melted for him, you looked up into his sky eyes. His gaze was sincere and honest. His caressing of your hands made you feel like he was a fire within you that would keep you warm through the night. It felt like you were in your safe space with him. It felt like he was your safe space. No words or gestures could describe the way you looked at each other. The way you understood each other. The way you found your beginning and your end in each other. No gestures except one.

You welcomed him and he welcomed you as your lips moved to touch. Gentle and sweet was the kiss. Your hands moved around each other, pulling you closer - physically and emotionally. You didn't hesitate or need to think too hard, you just... welcomed it. You smiled into the kiss, making Jimin chuckle before being silenced by your lips. His arms strong around your waist and back, yours strong around his neck, in this moment you felt that little could be more intimate than this. One more tear fell from your eyes. For Jimin, his joy was pure and blissful. He was grateful. To you... To fate...

Meanwhile, the other 6 had decided to grill for dinner. Yoongi had gone to turn the grill on when he froze, looking out the small window at the silhouette in the sun. His face was blank. His heart was hurting. He slipped away unseen.

Your foreheads rested against each other for a moment after the kiss before Jimin pulled you into a hug to which you giggled. He had definitely cheered you up.

'I like you, y/n.' He whispered into your ear, sincerely and whole-heartedly.

'Really? I hadn't guessed,' You laughed.

He chuckled deeply as he let go. 'I really like you.' He looked at you eagerly.

You didn't hesitate replying, not wanting him to feel that at all you didn't mean the following words. And you did mean them.

'I like you too, Jimin.'

'Really? I hadn't guessed.'

You laughed then with him. It was hearty and heart-warming. You felt a comforting sense of relief in this moment.

'I really like you too.'

As you calmed down from your high of joy, comfort, and relief, a thought crossed your mind.

'Whatever happens, I don't want to give him up.'

As you walked out, fingers interlinked, you kissed the back of his hand. This perfect moment smoothed the pains in your mind. Over the next few months, you would replay it in your head over and over again.
