"...Donghyuck!"Donghyuck didnt know who it was, it was probably a voice in his head. He didnt care either. He needed to keep going.
He pushed the toothbrush back further.
"What are you doing?! Stop!"
The voice called again.
No. As if he would stop.
He was yanked away from the toilet by the shoulders, the toothbrush flying out of his hands and clattering to the floor.
He screamed, throat burning and still sobbing his eyes out.
"No! No! Leave me alone! I need to!" He thrashed in the arms holding him tightly. He didnt care who the fuck it was, he didnt want to stop.
He tried to clamber forward, only to be held tighter. He couldn't take it. Hating that whoever it was, was seeing his most ugly self.
He threw an elbow back and hit them in the ribs, successfully escaping their arms and crawling to the corner of the room and into a ball. Harsher breaths coming out of him, eyes flowing with faster tears.
Where his friends pretending to like him? Were they all just picking him apart in secret? Seeing his flaws. Would he ever live up to the perfect standard? Would he ever get a waist as thin as a stick? Or would the pudge stay? Would he ever stop being annoying or clumsy or rude or honestly....the worst?
He couldn't breathe.
A warm hand gently laid itself on top of his head.
Was that him sobbing?
"Shh, Haechannie? Can you hear me?" A voice asked in his ear. Donghyuck could barely hear over his sobbing and his own heart beat beating loudly in his ears.
"I need you to breathe," The voice whispered, soft and comforting. It was calmer than it was before.
"I can't, I can't, I can't," Donghyuck sobbed, clutching onto the jacket of whoever was infront of him. "I need it, I need it, I need it."
He tried to leap forward to try to sit infront of the toilet again but a body got in his way, forcing him to stay balled in the corner of the room.
"No, no, no," The person pushed a hand lightly through his hair. "Tell me what you need hyuck."
"Perfect," He whispered out, his voice cracking.
"Perfect?"
"Perfection. I-I need it," Donghyuck struggled against the body. "I need it now."
"What are y-"
"Please," Donghyuck broke down again. At this rate if he didn't calm his breathing, he was going to pass out.
"No."
The person cradled Donghyuck to their chest before picking him up into their arms.
"No, heavy, too heavy, no," Donghyuck tried to push himself out of their arms but they just held him tighter, an unamused huff leaving their lips.
Donghyuck just let them do what they wanted. He felt helpless. He watched all the familiar things of his living room pass by him before he was sat sideways, in between the persons legs. His butt between their legs and both of his own legs thrown over one of theirs. His left side and head leaning against their body. They were so warm, he couldn't help but cling to their body heat. His tears slowing down their pace along with his breathing.
He was so defeated.
"Hyuckie? Can you hear me now?"
Donghyuck had his eyes close but nodded nonetheless.
"Can you look at me?"
Donghyuck squeezed his eyes tight together. Afraid.
"Please sunshine."
Donghyucks eyes bursted open at that. The pet name instantly giving away who had just watched him breakdown.
Mark.
Out of all people. It just had to be Mark?
He began to push away from Mark, starting to breakdown again. How could he be so stupid to let Mark see him like this? He just ruined all of his "progress" in mere minutes.
"No, not you," Donghyuck pushed at his chest as Mark latched onto him to keep him near him.
"Haechan-"
"I-I'm sorry," Donghyuck sobbed softly. "Im sorry. Im sorry. I tried. I'm sorry."
"Tried to what?" Mark asked, wrapping one of his arms around the front of Donghyuck's waist, his hand softly resting against his hip.
Donghyuck squirmed and the grip got tighter.
Donghyuck gave up.
Game over.
He lost.
"Mark, Mark, Mark," Donghyuck leaned into Mark's chest, clutching one hand to Mark's shirt as he sobbed into the front of it. "Im sorry, Mark, I'm so sorry, please I'm sorry."
Mark reached his free hand to the back on Donghyucks head, to keep him pressed against his chest. He rested his cheek on top of Donghyuck's head and started to rock them gently back and forth.
He began to sing.
"You are my sunshine,"
Mark started, his voice wasn't the best but it was soft, bringing a sense of calmness to Donghyuck.
"My only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey."
Donghyucks tears came to a stop and he closed his eyes, taking in the comfort in Marks cologne.
"You'll never know dear,
How much I love you..."
Donghyuck leaned further into Mark's embrace, sniffling quietly. He was still trembling but the little song was sending comforting waves through him. As if telling his body to relax.
"Please don't take my sunshine away."
Mark stopped and looked down. Donghyuck had stopped crying and had now fallen asleep against Mark's chest, his small hand still clutching Mark's zip up.
Mark's chest hurt.
His heart hurt.
What happened to his sunshine?
