Sam's POV
So remember that feeling I was having?
Well, it's still there.
It's been two days and it's still there.
I'm scheduled for a tracker meeting a couple of states over today, but how can I go?
How can I leave knowing something might go down?
How can I leave knowing that I could lose someone else?
I mean at first I thought it was my nerves, you know?
But then I remembered I never get nervous.
Never.
I genuinely feel that something bad is going to happen today.
I'm still praying that I'm wrong, but that's wishful thinking.
Because I am the best tracker we have, according to my dad, I was set on going. I even had my bags packed by the door.
Only things I needed of course.
But after contemplating this for the last two hours, I finally decided to talk to my dad.
As I make my way to his study I can feel my heart racing a mile a minute.
I knock on his door and open it.
"Dad, can I talk to you?," I ask.
He answered, "anything Princess."
Princess.
It's what he's called me ever since I can remember. He's the only one that calls me that.
The only man that I'd allow to do so.
It wouldn't feel right coming from anyone else...
Not even my mate.
Daddy's girl, remember?
Nonetheless, as soon as he looks up, he knows something's wrong.
He furrows his brows as he asks, "what is it, Sam?"
I can feel my insides churn.
The feeling getting worse by the second.
"Dad listen, I really think I should sit this meeting out today," he's about to cut me off when I raise my hand and continue, "I've been having a bad feeling for the past two days and you and I both know it's not nerves. We also know how accurate my feelings are."
I look at him as he thinks of what to say.
I mean it's true.
Every time I have a bad feeling, something awful happens.
Every. Single. Time.
That's the main reason why I'm so reluctant to go.
I had already lost my mom, I don't wanna lose him too.
He makes his way over to me, his ash grey eyes filled with love and concern looking into mine.
"Sam I don't think you should miss out on this meeting, no matter how scared you might be.
You're going to meet Alpha Jas-," he continues to speak but I trail off in my thoughts. Jason is the Alpha of the Water Light Pack. They were by far the strongest pack in the U.S. and he's been looking for a tracker that could help him become even stronger. My dad is convinced that he'd chose me, so now you can see why he's so adamant about me going, "and there's no way he wouldn't pick you. We all know how great you are at what you do!"
