Chapter Nine

Skylar is in the office that morning , he is staring blankly at Liam's wedding invitation, a week from now his best friend will be tying the knot. Of course he is Liam's Best Man while Audrey and Zoe are the maids of honor. He took a deep sigh remembering Zoe, he's not sure if she's coming. Skylar heard a knock at the door, Liam entered.

"Hey bro, I'm taking an off today, I have to pick-up Zoe at the airport around 11am, you can come with me, Zoe would be happy to see you, it's been two years." Liam said excitedly.

"Who? Zoe will be coming home? He asked still in doubt if he heard him right.

"Of course she is coming home, it's my wedding day! Are you coming with me? Liam asked.

"Damn! You should have told me! " he said to Liam. He could have at least prepared himself, he wanted to add but kept it to himself. He checked himself on the mirror, he looks fine. He felt anxious. What if she is still mad at me? He just shrugged off his thoughts and hesitancy.

Skylar and Liam is half an hour earlier at the airport waiting for Zoe. Skylar kept on walking back and forth in the arrival waiting area, he can't explain what he's feeling right now. He only realized now how much he missed her. This past two years most of his officemates would noticed how easily he gets irritated even on simple things. Oftentimes he is moody and unreasonable. Things didn't work out for him and Emily, they broke-up jut weeks after Zoe left him. He dated and bed women after them but he never felt more empty after those affairs.

His thoughts were interrupted when Liam called him. " She's here Sky, come on,my lil sister is back! Liam said with so much excitement.

Skylar was frozen for a moment. He couldn't move a single step. He felt his heart was racing fast. Even from a distance he could already recognized her. She is still beautiful, more beautiful than ever. She has natural rosy cheeks, and those lips he longed to kiss. "Oh God, how I missed her so much, he only now realized why his last two year's became empty, why he was always moody and irritable, it is because he has lost Zoe... He lost the woman he loves. He slowly walked towards them when he saw a man behind her and held her hand, he felt a tons of pain hammered his chest! "Who is this man? Why is he with Zoe?" He said to himself.

"Zoe! How's your trip? I missed you lil sister! Thank you for coming home, you shouldn't miss my wedding cause I'm your only brother." He heard Liam said to his sister.

"I missed you too brother!" She hugged him. "I want to know the whole story between you and Breanna okay? " Zoe said to Liam.

"Oh by the way, this is Xander Caldwell, he is a surgeon." She introduced him to them. Xander said hi to them.

"Sky is here Zoe." Liam said.

Zoe just gave a smile to Skylar. She already saw him together with his brother. She felt the pain from the past suddenly haunted her, but she would never let him see that, she is tougher now and wiser.

While on the road Zoe was very enthusiastic in telling stories about New York City and the United States, and the must-see places to Xander.
Skylar, from time to time would glance at the mirror to check Xander and Zoe.
Xander placed his arms over Zoe, he felt a jolt of jealousy, he wanted to punch his face! He can't bear seeing Zoe touched by other guy! Damn! He is cursing inside.

Xander noticed Skylar's reaction. The guy is definitely in love with Zoe. He knows Skylar in Zoe's stories. He has a good plan playing on his mind, he will make the guy jealous for him to reveal his true feelings for his friend Zoe, I guess the Love story of Skylar and Zoe has not yet ended, there is a continuation and this time He loves her back. He said smiling to himself.
