Chapter Three

Skylar couldn't believed what just happened. If not for that doorbell he would have taken Zoe right there and then in the pool! He looked at Zoe, she seemed surprised and ashamed, she could not look straight into his eyes. They were both speechless. Their heads both turned when Liam called them, behind him is their dad.

Liam: Sky and Zoe, dad's here. He handed the robe to Zoe as she went out of the pool. Skylar did the same.
Skylar: Good afternoon Mr. Smith, how was your trip sir?
Kent Smith: oh cut the formalities Sky. You could call me dad too.My trip went very well, tiring but happy.
Zoe kissed her dad cheeks.
Kent: How are you my princess? He said adoringly to his daughter.
Zoe: I'm good dad! We missed you here especially mom.
Kent: I missed her more! He said laughing.
Annie: I heard that sweetheart, she said smiling lovingly. She kissed her husbands lips and gave him a tight embrace.
What a lovely couple, Zoe wished to have a love like her parents. Then she looked at Skylar, he avoided her stare.
Annie: Sky, please stay here until dinner, we missed you here I can't take no for answer.
Skylar smiled and said yes to Annie.

During dinner everyone was happy and laughing talking about business and future plans. She rarely spoke during dinner. She observed Skylar, he's obviously avoiding my gaze. What is he thinking? Does it mean anything to him? We kissed, no we make-out! It just like nothing happened. I want to talk to him, but how? What if it means nothing to him, i don't want to be humiliated. Zoe think..think...think.

Dinner is almost done. After an hour, Skylar went to say goodbye to them. Zoe wanted to follow him but hesitated. I'll talk to him one of these days, she said to herself.

Skylar went to his car and drive home. While driving he can't help but relieve the moments that he and Zoe had at the pool. He can still feel her lips, her body, her scent, everything. He shouldn't entertain theses thoughts. She's off-limits. During dinner he avoided her gaze, her questioning eyes. He is not ready to explain to her.

Skylar's parents are in the living when he arrived home. They were watching a romantic-comedy flick. They said hi to Skylar and invited to join them but he refused. He went straight to his bedroom, took a shower and went to sleep. He doesn't want to think of Zoe now, but her image keeps floating in his mind. He even saw her in his dreams.

Zoe had been very busy this last few weeks for her finals and graduation. All her hardworks had paid-off. She will be marching for graduation tomorrow. She's happy but not completely. She missed Skylar badly, she was so busy that's why she was not able to find time to confront him.

Graduation Day

Zoe looks stunning in her dress, it is bubblegum-pink chiffon dress an inch above her knees, venus cut accented with beads,pearls and crystals. Her long hair has big waves of curls. She stood up and picked her toga on the bed, she went downstairs where her family is waiting for her.
Annie: You look so lovely my dear.. Congratulations honey! We are so proud of you. Annie kissed her cheeks and hugged her. Her dad also congratulated and hugged her, Liam did the same.
They arrived 30 minutes earlier in the university. Zoe saw her friends Breanna and Audrey, they hugged each other. All of them looked so beautiful and happy.
Breanna: Congratulations to us! We made it!
Audrey: yes we survived nursing school!
Zoe: This is just the beginning girls, we still have to passed the NCLEX for us to become a registered nurse.
Breanna: of course, that's our next goal. So Liam is here, he's really handsome isn't he? She said admiringly.
Zoe: You think I didn't notice how you look at my brother, you like him don't deny it. She said teasing Breanna.
Breanna blushed, shhh.. Lower down your voice will you. Okay I have to admit, from the very first time I saw him I liked him already. But I don't think he's into younger girls.
Zoe: don't worry I will help you get a date with him.
Breanna beamed hearing it. Seriously? You will do that for me?
Zoe: I will try to talk to him, i can't promise you anything from now but I'll do my best.
Breanna: oh thank you Zoe, you are simply the best!

The graduation ceremony started, they all went up the stage with pride. After the ceremony, Zoe was surprised to see Skylar. She could not contain her happiness seeing him. She missed him so much. Skylar walked towards her and congratulated her.
Skylar: Congratulations Zoe! I'm so proud of you! I know you will be an excellent nurse. He said smiling at her. He handed her a small velvet box wrapped in a colored rose ribbon.
Skylar: This is my graduation gift to you sweetie, happy graduation! She kissed her cheek and encircled her in his arms for an embrace.
Zoe felt so right in his arms, he smells terrific.

Zoe's dad made a reservation in a fine dining italian restaurant to celebrate her graduation, Skylar was also invited.

Skylar is in his office that morning, seated in front of his glass desk reviewing files in his laptop when he heard her secretary on the intercom. Sir, Ms. Zoe Smith is here, can I let her in now? Skylar was surprised, what does she wants? He said to himself. Okay let her in Debbie, thank you. He checked his looks and his hair.
He heard a knock and the door opened. There standing is his lovely visitor, wearing a flared skirt floral dress and probably a 3 inches tall wedge sandals. He noticed that she's wearing the bracelet he gave to her during her graduation. It is a white-gold plated bracelet with little heart shaped diamond around.

Skylar: Hi pretty! What brings you here? Are you sure you are in the right office? He said teasing her. Please take a seat.

Zoe: Hello there handsome, I came to thank you for this, she raised her wrist showing her bracelet. Thank you, I really love it! She gave her best smile.

Skylar: Anything for you sweetie, I'm glad you liked it! Would that be all?

Zoe: Nope, aside from that I really wanted to ask you something... About what happened in the pool?

Skylar suddenly became quiet. I thought she forgot it. Why does she needs to ask this now, he thought to himself.

Skylar: what about that Zoe? He asked.

Zoe: You kissed me.

Skylar: No, you kissed me Zoe. I should be the one asking you why?

Zoe: But you kissed me back, she said defensively. And you did more than just a kiss, does it mean anything to you at all?

Skylar: Why? Does it mean anything to you sweetie?

Zoe: I asked first Skylar. I demand an answer.

Skylar: Don't think too much about that, we were just carried away, it was just the two of us you know what I mean.

Zoe: But it does for me Sky, I like you. I mean I really like you a lot. She wanted to say I love you but she is scared to hear his answer.

Skylar was taken aback for a moment on how straight-forward she is expressing her feelings, he wonders if she have done this things like making the first move on her previous relationships.

Skylar: And I like you too but you are off-limits. You are Liam's sister, he would kill me for this, you know how protective your brother is to you.

Zoe: But I'm a grown-up now. I can make decisions for myself. Please tell me you would give us a chance. Try to get to know me even more, let's go out. Will you reconsider?

Skylar: Zoe sweetie, I can't betray Liam's trust. Please understand.

Zoe stood up and came closer to me,she kissed my lips enveloped my nape with her arms, I instantly responded, I kissed her back, I missed kissing these lips. My tongue delved deeper inside her sweet mouth and she responded with equal intensity. I started caressing her back down to her butt, my other hand is squeezing her breast. She's so intoxicating I could not resist. I want to take her now at my desk when suddenly she stopped my hands looking straight my eyes asking me to reconsider her suggestion.

Skylar: How can I say no to you sweetie. Let's go out tonight. But this will be a big secret Zoe, you know this could mean end of friendship with Liam.

Zoe: Yes I understand. So we're like secret lovers? She asked smiling.

Skylar: You can say that. He cupped her chin and planted a quick kiss on her lips. See you tonight Zoe.

Zoe: Yeah, see you my Sky. She kissed him goodbye and head her way out of his office. She was so happy, she can't wait for tonight to see him.
