(Y/n) plopped on the lush and soft grass of the front yard of her school. She made sure she wasn't seen from the school windows, since she was skipping class. She had English class going on and she didn't feel like attending. She placed her head on the trunk of a tree beside her when she noticed something fall from above.
It was a book. She looked around wondering where it came from and slowly crawled out to pick it up. She flipped through the pages, surprised to see it was empty. She touched the pages wondering if it had encrypted letters but it seemed pretty empty. Just as she closed the book, she saw instructions on how to use the book. Upon reading the instructions and rules, she scoffed and tossed the book back to where it was, concluding that it was some sick prank.
DEATH NOTE:
How to use it: "The human whose name is written in this note shall die."
Once the bell rang, she got up and left.
At the end of the day, Light Yagami, a twelfth grader and a country topper had also noticed the book and came to pick it up. At first he thought the same as (y/n) but curiosity got the better of him as he took the book home.
"A 42 year old man is now holding multiple children and their teachers hostage in the daycare. The SWAT team is doing everything they can-" the news reporter said on the television.
(Y/n) was done with one set of deliveries and came to take her next order. Her boss handed her the address list while she loaded the truck. The driver of the truck sat on the driver's seat while she sat next to him.
"And now it looks like the SWAT team is entering! The cops firmly deny of shooting the suspect. They say, he just collapsed suddenly," the news reporter continued on the radio.
(y/n) quietly listened and chuckled when a thought, absurd thought to her crossed her mind.
What if someone wrote the suspect's name in the death note I found today? The news channel gave away both his name and face. That'd be crazy though.
"What's funny, you little brat?" the driver asked her, scowling at her sideways.
Not many people liked conversing with her because of her blunt attitude which she didn't bother changing. The only person who put up with her was her boss, boyfriend and a few others in the past.
"None of your business."
The man cursed and clicked his tongue as they drove towards the next delivery address.

They completed the last delivery for the day and (y/n) got her paycheck. Her boss had asked the driver to make sure she reaches home but he didn't want to spend another unnecessary moment with her. Used to the ignorance and hatred she received, she shrugged and started walking home. She lived alone so she didn't have anyone waiting for her. She took her own sweet time while listening to her playlist. She wore fake glasses and mask for her own comfort and satisfaction. Her (h/c) hair was going back and forth because of the night breeze. She dug her pocket deeper in search of warmth as she prodded along the footpath.
She noticed four bike thugs surround a woman as she walked in the opposite direction.
(y/n) clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes as she tried to ignore but she couldn't when she noticed them trying to strip the woman of her clothes.
She walked behind one of them and threw a round-house kick on his head, making him fall off of his bike. All four of them were caught off guard by (y/n)'s interference as the guy loosened his grip on the woman.
One of them grabbed (y/n) trying to hold her by her neck but (y/n) easily hauled him over her head, slamming his back to the hard concrete ground.
She adjusted her glasses, mask and jacket in stance to attack when the woman ran and as one of the bikers went after her, he got run over by a truck.
The other three from his gang ran over to their dead friend while (y/n) picked the woman's bag and handed it to her.
The woman had tears streaming down her face and constantly bowed to (y/n) in gratitude for stepping in. (Y/n) shrugged and nodded as she headed home.
Serves him right, she thought and passed by the incident place when she noticed a familiar face. Light Yagami- her classmate, national topper and the "POPULAR" guy in her school. He had a flabbergasted look on his face which made (y/n) frown.
The accident wasn't that terrifying, right? Or maybe it was too much for Mr. Sheltered and groomed to handle, she thought smirking as she headed home.
