They reached Light's house. (Y/n) looked around in curiosity. So he is well-sheltered and groomed, she concluded.

He beckoned her to come upstairs with him when his mom came in with a look of amusement and surprise on her face. She looked (y/n) up and down and then at Light.

"Oh mom, she's my classmate, (y/n) (l/n). And this is my mom," Light said introducing them to each other. (y/n) bowed slightly and headed upstairs after Light.

Weird girl, Light's mom thought and went back to the kitchen.

Light went to his desk and sat right away to get things done.

"Woah, you're already getting at it? You're one diligent criminal," (y/n) said and plopped on the bed next to Ryuk.

"Aren't you going to help?" Ryuk asked (y/n), reaching over to grab an apple from the bedside table.

"Nope, I'm just here for the fun of it," she said, and pulled her legs up and crossed them. She looked around at his room. She stood back up and started examining.

"What are you doing?" Light asked.

"You're room is pretty plain for a high school boy," she said, after going around and finally reaching his study desk.

"What did you expect? Metal band posters or video games' posters or porn mags?" Light asked glancing at her who was now hovering over his shoulder and looking at the names of the people he was writing.

"Well, maybe? I don't know," she replied. She huffed and sat back on the bed. Light stopped what he was doing and turned to her. For some reason, he didn't want her to feel bored. He wanted keep her entertained and amused.

"What?" she asked, her brows furrowing.

"Did you expect some dramatic music and things like that while I'm writing down names in the book? You have got to lower your expectations, loner."

"Sheesh, no. I did not expect any of that. How long will you be running free like this before the police start coming after you?"

"Hmm, I don't know. I'm doing this so they recognize me and I'm sure I'll be the headlines or at least the hot topic of the world in a few days and I can't wait. I'll be the new god," he said and chuckled and brought his gaze back to (y/n).

"You're a freaking attention seeking maniac," (y/n) stated.

"Or maybe just an aspiring student who wants to help his people and be recognized as their new god," Light sneered. The thought alone sent him jitters down his spine and all over his body.

"You're no less, aiding me in my work of justice. Aren't you also seeking attention?" Light asked, leaning back in his chair and looking at her.

"No way in hell," (y/n) laughed as she said, "Just because I'm here with you doesn't mean I'm helping you with anything. Like I said earlier, I'm here for the fun of it. I'm just a bystander," she shrugged and smirked at him.

Light felt a pang of disappointment. What was I expecting? Her help? Why the hell would  I need her help?

"Have it your way then. Don't get in my way that's all," Light said, his gaze still glued to her face.

"Since I've already seen that face you try so hard to hide, can you get rid of the glasses and put your hair back?" Light said, leaning forward.

Taken aback by this completely out of context request she hesitantly pulled her thick rimmed and thick lens glasses out and put her hair in a ponytail.

"Would you look at that? You're a sight for the sore eyes," Light said, not being able to look away from her face.

(Y/n)'s face heated up and that's when (y/n) realized. Wait, why the hell am I listening to this maniac? Even my boyfriend doesn't get to see my bare face when he wants to.

As much as her actions were contradicting the promise she had made to herself, she didn't want to cover her face. She wanted Light to see all of what she was scared to expose, afraid of, which will be the cause for repetition of mistakes, something she has been trying so hard to hide over the past years.

She suddenly felt queasy and uncomfortable. Her head started to hurt. She put on her glasses, pulled her hair down and got up while slinging her bag over her shoulder.

"I'm leaving, I'll see you tomorrow," she said barely loud enough for Light to be able to hear and started walking towards his window. She pulled it open, stepped on the sill, while crouching and jumped off making Light jump up from his chair and reach after her. He looked down and saw that she had landed as softly as a cat and was already sprinting out his backyard and gradually out of sight.

"She's  a funny one," Ryuk said laughing and chomped on another apple. He was also taken aback when (y/n) jumped off.

"She's a piece of work," Light said as he sighed in relief that she wasn't hurt. He then started to wonder why she left so suddenly. Did I tell something weird? Did I-

Someone knocked at his room door. This startled him but he quickly shut the death note , shoved it in his drawer and walked over to open the door. It was his sister.

"I need help with homework," his sister said while eagerly looking around the room.

"Mom said you have a really beautiful but weird girl over so I wanted to see. Where is she?" she asked, whispering to Light.

"Oh, um she left," Light replied, scratching the back of his neck.

"What? Why? Didn't you just arrive?" his sister asked as she walked into the room.

"Yeah. I don't know either." Light internally sighed and walked over to his sister and started helping her with her homework.
