"His name is Ryuk. He's a, well, death god," Light said, tilting his head towards Ryuk, who stood there with a smug grin plastered on his dark lips.
(y/n) opened her mouth to answer when the infirmary teacher barged in.
"Ah, so you actually came? I thought I imagined you walking in to the infirmary," she giggled which made (y/n) internally cringe. A middle aged woman hitting on an eighteen year old boy, the thought itself made her want to throw up.
"So, what's wrong?" she asked walking towards Light, completely ignoring (y/n)'s presence. It was nothing new to her. Just as the teacher neared Ryuk, (y/n)'s eyes widened but to her surprise, she walked right through him.
(y/n) decided it was her cue to leave so she can give them privacy to have 'teacher-student' bond but Light grabbed her wrist. She yanked her wrist from his grip, frowning at him. He was surprised too. He had touched and grabbed many girls' hand but not a single one of them reacted like this. Repulsive, rather quite the opposite.
"Can I take my girlfriend home, Mrs. Hill?" Light asked, with a soft and charming smile on his face.
"Sure, Light~. I'll write down a letter of leave for you."
"I ain't his girl-" (y/n) started when she was cut off by Light's hand that clasped her mouth.
"Thank you, Mrs. Hill," Light smiled gently, making the teacher's heart flutter.
He pulled (y/n) out with him and to the boy's toilet. He checked all the stalls while (y/n) waited at the door, impatiently tapping her foot and waiting for the brunet to finish his patrol.
"I ain't your freaking girlfriend. I'm already taken, Light. Real or fake, being your girlfriend is my nightmare come true. And also, if you're worried that I'll snitch about, Ryuk was it? Or the fact that you can kill people just by writing their names in a book? I'm sure I'll have a hard time making them believe me. Leave me alone." She said this, turned on her heels and left.
Light smirked and sighed. "As interesting as you are, (y/n) you will be a hindrance to me."
He ran after her and walked beside her. "What do you want?" (y/n) asked, rolling her eyes.
"I'm walking you home, like I said earlier."
(y/n) groaned and they both headed to class to grab their bags.
Even upon being really persistent, (y/n) refused to let Light walk her home so he just dropped her off near a train station and himself headed home.
"She's an interesting one," Ryuk said. Light mentally agreed.
They reached home and after showering, Light sat down to write the next batch of names he was supposed to. First, he wrote down (y/n) (l/n)'s name in the death note.
"Oh? You're killing her?" Ryuk asked.
"Yeah. Had she not known about you and the note, I would've actually taken an interest in her but to her misfortune, she's only trouble."
At this, Ryuk started laughing. Light looked at him with an inquisitive look.
"Oh my, how I wish it was her who picked up the death note instead of you."
