Densi 8: Bedtime Routines

Hi guys! Okay! 6x14 "Black Wind" was freaking amazing! Deeks basically said he loves Kensi, the whole cactus love story thing, the way Deeks is with kids oh my gosh, the cactus karma, MORGAN FREEMAN, the hamburger argument, and everything else that happened! Aside from 6x11, Humbug, I'd have to say this is my favourite episode this season! I've rewatched it already a couple times and it NEVER gets old!!

Okay, I should stop talking now because I have the one shot to write soooo...ya....hope you enjoy it and feel free to leave feedback as well as prompts/ideas for future one shots in the comments ;)

Probably will be POV switches in this one bc I have this really cool idea for that and ya okay enjoy!

Loosely based off of a prompt I asked violetdoodlebug on tumbr to write (which was fantastic btw)

Deeks' POV

"Dada!! Dada!!" I hear my one-year-old son cry from his spot in the playpen across the room. "Coming little man." I smile and get up off the couch and jog over to Danny. "What's wrong baby?" I ask gently as I scoop him up in my arms and sway back and forth. Danny babbles something and then laughs. "Well, I don't know what happened but at least you're in a better mood now buddy!" I smile and kiss his head gently. I slowly walk back to the couch with Danny in my arms and then take a seat and we watch the basketball game together.

A bit later on, the game ends and it's now about 8:00pm. "Alright little man, let's go get ready for bed." I smile to Danny in my arms and then I get up and carry him up the stairs and into the bathroom.

I hold him in one arm as I turn on the tap and fill the sink with water and some bubbles, grab the baby towel for him as well as the soap and his bath toys. "Alright Danny! Let's get you all bathed." I smiled and kissed his head again and then took off his onsie and put him into the soapy water. I cleaned him up with the soap and then he wanted to have a few minutes to play.

"Which toys do you want buddy?" I ask him. "Dwagon!" He smiles. "Alright Danny, here's the dragon!" I smiled. "Dada pway too!" Danny smiled. "Alright mister Danny, which one do you want me to play with?" I asked and then he handed me one of the dragon toys and we started playing a bit.

"RAWRRR!" I giggled and tickled Danny as we played. He laughed his adorable little laugh, with that adorable little snort in there that reminds me so much of his mother.

After some time of playing with the toys, we put them away, drain the water, and then I pick up Danny and wrap him in the fluffy baby-sized towel and then carry him into mine and Kensi's bedroom and place him on the bed, still on top of the fluffy towel.

I dry him off with the towel and then I grab his diaper and start putting it on. Danny giggles. "What are you laughing at mister?" I smile at him. He keeps laughing and I finish putting on his diaper then I put on his bedtime onsie and then I scoop him into my arms and sway around the room to help him fall asleep.

Kensi's POV

I walk up the stairs and go into my sons room to grab his laundry when I hear my husbands soft voice coming from the room next door. "What are you laughing at mister?" He says. I hear Danny laughing softly. The air becomes silent for a while and then I hear Deeks humming a soft tune and I know he's rocking Danny to sleep.

I decide to go see what's going on in the room next door so I put the laundry basket back down on the floor and then quietly tiptoe to mine and Deeks' bedroom and peek through the opening between the door. I see Deeks with Danny in his arms and swaying gently around the room trying to soothe our son to sleep.

I feel tears start to well up in my eyes as I watch this beautiful moment between father and son unfold in front of me. I know Deeks' childhood was anything but ideal, but he is doing so well being an amazing father to Danny and I know he doubts himself but no matter what he says, I know he's an amazing father.

I stand there and watch them for a few minutes longer and then Deeks lies down with Danny in his arms, making sure not to leave him near anywhere he could fall off the bed. I watch them both lie there for a while and then I decided to go in the room.

I open the door slowly and then quietly walk in and lie down beside Deeks in our bed. "Hey beautiful!" He whispers, careful not to wake Danny. "Hey handsome!" I smile and kiss him softly. We lie there for a while in silence and then Danny starts to stir. "I'm gonna go put him in his crib. I'll be right back." Deeks smiles and gets out of the bed and goes to Danny's room next door to put him down.

He returns a few minutes later and lies back down in the bed beside me again. He immediately wraps his arms around me tightly and kissed my cheek softly. "I love you, you know." He smiles as he kisses me softly on the lips this time. "I know. I love you too." I smile and kiss him softly, but with lots of passion.

We break apart from the kiss and just lie facing each other, in each other's arms. "What's on your mind beautiful?" He asks me. "Hmm, nothing. Just thinking of how great of a father you are with Danny." I smile and snuggle into him more. "You really think so?" He asks me, doubting himself. "Of course I do. I would never lie to you!" I smile and kiss him. "Thank you Kens." He whispered and then pressed his lips on top of my head. "For what?" I said softly. "For believing in me, for helping me through everything and just for...well...everything! You're such an amazing person and an even more amazing wife and I love you so much!" He smiles and kisses me lovingly. "Well, you're very welcome! You deserve everything and more and I love you too!" I smile and return his soft kisses.

We snuggle up into each other's arms. "Goodnight my beautiful Kensalina." He smiles and kisses the top of my head softly. "Goodnight Deeks." I smile and press a few soft kisses onto his bare chest.

I close my eyes and we both drift off into a peaceful and undisturbed sleep.

Hey guys! Okay I'm so sorry this took forever to write bc I have school (I just started second semester btw) and ya I've been kinda busy just with everything aha.

Well I'm absolutely in love with 6x14, "Black Wind" it's so good wow!!

We sang Marianas Trench songs in my vocal class at school today ;) and I had my music lessons (like home ones) today too so it's been a musical day lol!

Okay I'm gonna shush and go write more one shots now okay :)
