𝙱𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑 𝙳𝚊𝚢𝚜 - 𝙰𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗 𝚡 𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚛 (𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚛𝚝)

You woke up and rubbed your eyes. The smell of salt filled your nose and the gritty feeling of sand rested between your toes. The sun was beaming and hitting your d/c skin.

"Y/N?" A figure blocked the sun and was bent down. "Are you finally awake?" You sat up and let your vision settle before smiling at the boy. "Armin i'm fine." He held a bowl in his hand and set it in front of you. "We have rice and bread,"
He turned around to grab a satchel with books and miscellaneous items inside. "I also used my salary to get some sugar as well."

"Armin you know sugar is expensive!" You scolded. The scouts didn't make much.

Especially on the trip to the Sea, you wanted him to buy books and necessities, not sugar. "Now what if we get seperated from the group and have nothing to eat. Sugar isn't good for us."

"Y/N I've read enough books over the years on how to cook food. And according to the book I found on the outside world, fish is edible!"

You smiled and picked up the bowl and spoon. "Nerd."

"Hey!" he pouted. "Just stating the facts."

Armin looked at you and smiled as you ate.

You looked at Armin, cheeks stuffed with rice and looked confused. "What are you smiling at?"

"Nothing!" He blushed and looked away. "You know Y/N i'm glad to be here with you. It's all we ever wanted as kids."

"I'm glad we made it. After all we've been through. We deserve this. We deserve to dream and deserve to live."

You looked back to see Eren and Mikasa staring at the two of you. Eren had a dead expression in his eyes and Mikasa looked equally distressed.

"Hey guys come join us!" You waved. Armin smiled and waved to the pair to come over as well.

"We finally made it!" Armin exclaimed.

Eren and Mikasa walked in front of you two and kneeled down. Eren grabbed Armin's shoulders and Mikasa grabbed the bowl from my hands.

"Hey that's rude!" Armin squealed.

Armin looked over at you and mouthed the word "sorry" and looked back towards Eren.

"You should eat your food. And Levi said we can stay for a bit longer."

"I'm rationing. We don't have much. We're taking turns eating."

Mikasa sucked in a breath of air and scooted Eren aside so she was able to caress Armin's cheek. "It's been days Armin."

You smiled softly and scooted to lean your head on Armin's shoulder. The blond shook his head. "I'm fine. We're enjoying our sea days. Living our dream, I would rather starve and die here then within the walls."

"I don't think Y/N would want you to die here. What about our other dreams?" Eren chuckled nervously.

Armin looked down at you while you were watching the waves. "I have patience. I wanna enjoy this for now." Eren bit his lip and teared up, nodding down. "Okay...fine."

Armin looked confused. "Is it the salt water?" He looked between you and Mikasa. Mikasa grabbed his arm and stood him up. "Let's go by the rocks." She suggested.

As the three began to walk away you stood up and wiped the sand off the back of your scout uniform. You started to walk the opposite way and Armin couldn't help but to pause and look back.

"Wait guys- Y/N where are you going?

"I'm tired Armin."

"You just woke up!"

"You woke me too early. I'm going to rest in peace now."
