"Eren Jaeger...Leo Monis...Y/N L/N..."

Once again you heard your ranking in the trainee camp. You ranked last. Again. Either you were going to be sent home, or sent to the agriculture camps to farm for the rest of your life. You shifted in your standing stance trying to look confident. It was quite embarrassing, ranking last for the third week in a row. Yes, you had the mental strength but physical strength...not so much.

"Everyone is dismissed."

You went to a nice spot by the edge of the camp. You came here to clear your mind and to feel better but, only memories of your childhood came flooding in.

---

"The L/N's name will go down in history, starting with me who started it all."

"But Grandp-"

"Are you going to disappoint me like your mother?" Shaking his head he grabbed your wrist and tightly squeezed. "You will NOT end up in the slums like her,"

"Grandpa it hurts!" You cried out.

"You will join the MP's and marry a commander," You were squirming and whining trying to get out of his grip. But no child could match his strength.

"If you come back, single or if I catch you in any camp other than the trainee camp, i'll do you worse than sending you underground." He threatened.

---

You fell to your knees and wailed out, hunched over and fists pounding the ground. "I can't go back. Please. Please I can't."

You stopped and sniffled and stared at the ground. You smiled and realised how ridiculous you look. "I refuse to go back." You said darkly. The breeze was getting chillier and the sun was setting earlier than usual. The winter was approaching, which meant the endurance test was coming up. A journey through the forest, in order to show that you can handle harsh conditions.

The dinner bell rang and you sat and watched the sunset. Nobody would mind if you skipped this meal. After all, it's been at least a week since you last touched any food. You needed to get fit, to be strong without the meals. If MIkasa and Annie could manage then you could.

It got darker and the lanterns on the cabins started to light up one by one. A group of people filed out, meaning that dinner time was over. "HEY YOU OVER THERE!" A girl yelled.

"Sasha NO!" You heard a boy yell out. A brunette haired girl panted as she made her way up to you. "You. Weren't. At. Dinner,"

You raised an eyebrow, thinking she noticed your odd eating pattern. "Listen. I see you haven't been eating dinner lately so, can you just come so I can have your plate?"
