"Wait wait wait, you went to the Hale house because of your jacket?" I questioned Scott as we walked through the night, trees standing at attention as we strolled past them.
"Allison's jacket." Stiles corrected, a smirk on his lips as he kicked the dirt under his feet next to me.
"Whoever's jacket it was isn't the problem right now. Anyways, you went to the Hale house and confronted Derek, and then you smelled blood?" I continued to Scott, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Derek didn't seem like a model citizen but I don't think he could murder someone, or murder someone in such a gruesome way as cutting them in half. The body that was reported a couple of days prior was said to be cut in half, the police only have one part in their custody at the moment. I secretly hoped Derek didn't do this, not because I was worried about him, but I was worried about what he might do. For God's sake, he knew where I lived and snuck into my house, doing the same to Scott as I learned.
"Yes, blood and this other weird scent. It's human blood, but off.." Scott stated quietly.
After a couple of minutes of comfortable silence we approached the house we were conversating about. Calling it a house was being generous. A charred junk of ruins wasn't what I was expecting when Scott told me about his meeting with Derek at his place.
"This is the Hale house? Jesus, it looks so sad." I mumbled as we stalked closer. The house looked like it held so many memories, and that it once was a house full to the brim of happiness and pure joy. That wasn't what it had become, what it was now was something sad and haunting. How someone could live in this place was beyond me.
"So, let me get your story straight. Allison came up to you today and had her jacket from the night of the party you ran from, also the party Derek took her home from. She told you it ended up in her locker so you got pissed knowing it was him. You confronted him after school and smelled the blood and then decided to leave, come and get us, and take us here." I stated, walking closer to the home. I knew making noise wasn't a problem because I didn't smell Derek's scent anywhere close.
"Yep, that's it," Scott said with a nod.
"Are you guys gonna find where the blood is coming for or keep chitchatting?" Stiles pushed, rubbing his shaved head anxiously.
I rolled my eyes before taking in a huge breath of air, capturing every smell in the woods around us. I could smell the overbearing scent of the pinewood trees, disgusting animal waste, newly wet grass, and... the blood. My eyes shot open quickly and twitched to the left side of the Hale house where a patch of newly tampered dirt laid, reeking of blood. I quickly understood what Scott meant about it smelling off.
"Follow me." I said quickly and jogged over to the big patch of dirt, stopping right at the edge before the dirt started. "Jesus it smells like rotting flesh." I said bitterly, glancing around just to make sure that there weren't any prying eyes or ears.
