the next morning, maisie got up as she did every saturday and put on some sports leggings and a sports bra.
she then met up with claire and they did their weekly 5k run, during which claire wouldn't stop asking maisie about sam.
"okay, so i asked him how his day was and he said it was better once i was in it!" maisie smiled, as she ran along side her best friend.
"no way! he's such a dork." claire complained.
"but that's what makes him so cute!" maisie laughed.
"if you think he's so cute, just ask him out." claire said, getting a bit out of breath as they approached the end of their run.
"my dad would kill me." maisie muttered, sadly.
"he's not gonna control you forever mais, you have to think about the future. your future. you'll grow up and live in a cute house and marry sam thomas or some other guy who's not jacob chester!" claire rambled.
"that's not realistic claire." maisie sighed.
"fine, you'll move into a little cottage with me in the british countryside and we'll live off the land!" claire giggled.
"that's the plan!" maisie smiled.
"precisely, however if you were to date sam thomas, you could come on double dates with me and jayden!" claire laughed.
"yeah, because that would be spectacular." she sassed.
"on another topic, what're you doing today?" claire asked.
"i have a shift at the café at nine this morning and then in the evening i'm babysitting sam's little brother." maisie anounced.
"oh cool, what's he like?" claise asked her.
"he's really sweet and he started holding my hand which was adorable." maisie smiled.
"are you talking about sam or his brother?" claire questioned.
"his brother." maisie sighed.
"well, see you tomorrow maisie!" claire smiled, as they approached her house.
"bye, love you!" maisie yelled after the girl who was now running into her house.
"love you too!" claire yelled back. maisie continued running until she got back to her apartment, then going inside, showering and getting ready for her shift.
