'she said see you later boy'

the agency were out to take all business away from the club.

but they weren't about to just stand by and let it happen.

the younger girls handed out flyers, while maisie targeted facebook groups.

one meeting, some crazy ladies even called looking for the agency and started chanting.

"this has gone way too far!" maisie sighed.

"they're totally ripping us off." claudia added.

"i don't know how long i can keep it up with these facebook moms, i mean the agency got yoga class, that was a jackpot." maisie ranted.

"are there any things you haven't tried yet?" mary anne asked.

"i even started up r/thebabysittersclub there's nothing else to try." she replied.

"at least mrs brown hasn't moved to the agency." stacey smiled, being a people pleaser, as always.

"plus mr brown's a lawyer and he may have been spreading the word about our club to a few of his rich coworkers." maisie smirked.

"thank god." kristy mumbled.

the agency had been sending the girls on fake jobs for a about a week, which was horrible of them and maisie would never have considered doing it back to them. never.

but when kim went into labour and jamie was at the thomas', kristy called the first ever emergency meeting of the babysitters club.

once everybody had arrived and gathered in kristy's room, she jumped up onto her bed and started talking.

"okay, so there's this snake called the shuai-jan, and if you hit the shuai-jan in the head, then it's tail will attack you. but if you strike the tail, it's head will attack you, and if you strike it right in the middle, both sides will come at you." she ranted.

"what?" mary anne questioned, very confused.

"it's from the art of war. keep up." kristy replied. "okay, so the agency is moving in on our turf, and we need a new plan. we can't lose this club, it's the best idea i've ever had."

"it's practically the only reason my dad lets me leave the house." mary anne said.

"it's the only way i can really see you guys until you get to high school." maisie smiled, sadly. it also meant she didn't have to spend as much time near her dad, but she wasn't going to tell them that.
