"Come on Marrissa go talk to him!!" My 2nd grade best friend Jessica tells you. "No Jessica he's too cool for me to talk to!!" I tell her. We were both looking and talking about the new kid Lucas, he's from Australia which was really far away from my little home of Yorkshire.

At least it had seemed that way at the time. "What are you talking about Ruthie? He's new how can you tell how cool he is?" She asks squinting her eyes trying to see what I saw. "You can tell just by the way he stands! All coolly like!"I tell her while shaking her shoulders to make her stop squinting.

"Well even if he does stand all coolly like, maybe he isn't smart enough to see how coolly like you are!" She says shaking my shoulders back. After a long time of debating how coolly like he was she convinced me to go talk to him. "Um hey Lucas, I'm Marrissa. I said looking at the ground and than up at him repeatedly.

I was so scared her would see right through me, see how un cool I was. "Hey Marrissa I'm Lucas, but everyone I've ever knowed in my wholes entire life has called me Luke!" He says sticking out his hand.

I shake it and tell him, "Your voice sounds funny, is it because your from Aust-Austrl-Austil--" He laughs at my struggle.

"Australia? Yeah I think so, I think your voice sounds funny too! Possibly cos your from Yorkshere!" I giggled because of his mis-pronunciation. "Um Luke it's actually said like Yorkshire." He scratched his head and looked down in embarrassment.

"Oops I'm not really good at saying things." I laughed again. "It's okay I still think you're super cool!" That made him smile wide. Jessica yawned and looked at her wrist as if she had a watch, or in fact knew how to tell time. "Oh Luke this is my bestest friend in the whole world Jessica!"

He looks over and sticks his hand out. "Hey Jessica! I'm Luke!" She shakes his hand and says "Ello Luke, very good to meet you!" I look at all three of us and ask "So what now?" Jessica shrugs her shoulders, and we look to Luke for an answer. He puts his arms around our shoulders and asks "We could all be bestest friends?" I look to Jessica and we both say at the same time "Definitely." And the that's how our friendship began.

Days later both Jessica and I went to Luke's house to have a play date. All three of our moms had tea and talked, while we went up to Luke's room to see his toys. "They aren't all unpacked yet but I've got a few of them out." He brings us to the closet and opens up a bin. There we find Legos and a toy train and Nerf guns. "Oh my goodness! You have Legos?!" Jessica asks "Yup just about 1000!"

He says proudly. "And holy pizza dude! Are these the new Nerf guns?!" I ask. We are both fascinated by his toys just about to beg to play with them until there's a knock on his door. "Hey Luke, oooo only been here about a week and you've got 2 girlfriends? Nice bro!" The older boy says with a cheeky grin.

"Ashton! They are not my girlfriends! Now what do you want dumb butt we're trying to play?" Luke says with a tint of red on his cheeks. "Just wanted to know what all the noise was, are you guys about to play with the Nerf guns?" He asks looking at me, only half paying attention because I'm so eager to get to the pretend guns.

"Well I think Jessica wanted to play with the Lego--" Jessica cuts him off. "No no no it's okay we can play with the Nerf guns first! I want your big brother to be able to have some fun too!"

Jessica says not even paying attention to the Legos anymore. Her eyes were on the older boy, Ashton, he had green eyes, and dirty blonde hair that was constantly in his eyes. He looked at Jessica than the rest of us and said "Well than what are we waiting for let's go have some fun!"

Luke and Ashton had a huge backyard which made it really easy to hide and run around, but really hard to find the darts when we needed to. We were constantly stopping our game to find more or so someone could reload their gun. But when we weren't doing that, we were all over the place laughing and screaming.

I guess we were so loud that the neighbor kids could hear us. Because suddenly two heads popped up from the fence and said "Hey how come you guys are having fun and we weren't invited?" A pale boy asks.

He had blonde hair as well with blue eyes. "Well if we were to have known you were there maybe we would've asked!" Ashton shouts back. The other boy responds "How did you not know we were here making just as much noise as you guys!" The other boy responds.

He's a lot tanner with black hair and brown eyes. "Of course you're not other wise we would have heard you guys, but nevermind that just get over here er um... sorry you never told us your names" Ashton tells them. "I'm Michael Clifford!" The paler one says "And I'm Calum Hood!" The tanner one says. They sound like they were as well from Australia.

"Great now come on over and we'll introduce ourselves." Michael and Calum jump off of whatever they were standing on to see over the fence and run over to Luke and Ashton's yard. "Well I guess I'll start. I'm Ashton Irwin and this is my little brother Luke Hemmings."

We all looked at him confused except Luke. "If you guys are brothers why don't you have the same last name?" I asked. "We're step brothers his mum married my dad." We all say "ooooooooooh" in unison and move on with introductions.

"I'm Jessica Greenstreet, but you can call me Jessie that's what all of my family and friends call me." She says and smes wide. "Hi Jessie!" Michael says and waves. Everyone stares at me until I realize why they are. "Oh yeah its my turn! My name is Marrissa Jackson you can call me pretty much anything Jackie, M.J., Mar, but you may not call me Ruthie without Jessie saying so!" I say looking at them sternly.

Everyone looks back and forth between me and Jessica concerned. All Jessica does is shrug and shake her head. "Okaaaay." Michael says." Well now that we've gotten introduced and all can we go back to our game? I've got two more nerf guns if you lot want to play?" Luke tells them and hands them two guns. We have all been friends ever since.
