WEST VALLEY GENERAL

JACK

I stared at the wall across from me before my phone buzzed. I grabbed my phone and opened Instagram. Hawk posted a new video. I played it and watched him kick a post making a bonsai tree fall. I went through his recent posts before shaking my head tossing my phone aside, leaning my head back on the pillow. "Everything looks good. Hey, what's wrong? Can I turn on the TV for you or get you another pillow?" The nurse asked me. "What if my surgery didn't work?" I asked looking over at her. "What if I can never walk again?" I added. "Sweetie, you can't think like that. I know what'll make you feel better though. A big piece of chocolate cake. How's that sound, huh?" She stated. "Sure." I whispered looking away. "Be right back." She told me walking out of the room. I stared up at the ceiling before furrowing my eyebrows before sitting up. I couldn't take this anymore. I needed to get my legs back...now.

MIGUEL

I stood next to Hawk on the soccer field. "I really wish Jack was here with us." I said. "So do I." Hawk answered. "So, what happens after he comes back to Cobra Kai? Will he still be top dog? Or will someone else?" Hawk asked me. "What? Are you expecting someone to replace Jack?" I questioned. He shook his head. "No. But it's a possibility." He answered before the coach blew the whistle. I ran off with the ball before passing it to Hawk. He passed it back to me before passed to him and he kicked it into the goal. He ran back before Demetri ran beside him, shoving him before kicking his legs making him fall before walking away. I furrowed my brows coming to a stop as Hawk got to his feet. He looked at me before I raised my hands into the air. I watched the ball being kicked by Demetri and ran at him before Sam smashed her foot into my face, hard. I went to the ground holding my nose writhing in pain. Hawk knelt beside me. "Hey, Miguel. You good man?" He asked. I looked up at Sam before wiping blood from my nose. "What? Was Jack not enough for and you friends? Gonna take me out next?" I snarled spitting blood. Sam lost the smirk on her face at the mention of Jack. Hawk turned me away as I wiped the blood from my face. "All right! That's it! All of you to the principal's office! Now!" Coach shouted.

I exited Counselor Blatt's office. "Caldwell, Johnston, Rickenberger, Eli, the four of you and Miguel are free to go." She told us. "You gotta be kidding me? What about us?" Sam asked her. "The rest of you will be receiving rehabilitative, not punitive, Saturday detention." She told them. "Detention? Great, another blemish on my permanent record." I heard Demetri state. "This is bullshit!" Sam shouted. "Miss LaRusso! That is not how we express ourselves here. I think you need two weekends of rehabilitative detention." Counselor told her. "This school sucks!" Sam yelled.

JACK

WEST VALLEY GENERAL

I tried to reach for my phone leaning forward off the hospital bed as far as I could, but couldn't reach it. I slammed my fist against the mattress before cursing out in frustration. "Shit!" I yelled. I looked over to see Johnny. "What are you doing here?" I asked him. "Want the phone?" He asked. "Yes." I answered. Johnny pushed the table away. "Go get it." He told me. "You think I haven't tried?!" I exclaimed. "QUIET!" Johnny yelled. "Never," "can't..." Those are just meaningless words. Time to get out of bed and do something. You're not a kid anymore. The world won't hand it to you. You want something, you'll have to crawl across the floor, use your damn teeth if you have to. You'll do whatever it takes. And I'll always be right here next to you. 'Cause I'll always be your teacher. Now go get it." Johnny told me. "Well, it's about damn time. I was wondering when you come around, jackass." I said sitting up and stretching out towards the phone. "You got this. That's it." Johnny said. I pushed myself off the bed and felt the heaviness of my unmoving legs weigh me down. "Come on!" I whispered becoming shaky. "OK." I whispered before reaching out towards the phone before I fell out of the bed onto the floor. "Oh, shit. It's all right. You fell like a champ. Nurse!" Johnny stated. "Oh. Don't worry about--" I said sarcastically looking at Johnny's shoes. "Hey, are those new shoes?" I asked him getting distracted. "God, I missed you, kid." Johnny muttered.
