I grabbed a Gatorade and closed the glass door. "Let me guess, dick pic?" A girl asked. I furrowed my brows turning around to see Tory and Aisha. They looked at me wide-eyed. I shook my head. "I don't want know." I said putting my hands into the air. "No, my mom wants me to go to the beach club with her." Aisha explained. "Oh my God, that sounds so miserable." Tory told her. "No. It's just...This girl Sam's probably gonna be there, and she and I are not on good terms. Whatever. I'm Aisha, by the way." Aisha explained. "Tory." Tory answered. "Ah. Tory with a "Y"." I pointed out. "That's important." I added as she chuckled. "Hey, that's a cool bracelet." Aisha announced. "Oh, this? It's not just for show." Tory stated holding up a white spiked bracelet on her right arm. "Some creepy guy at the mall tried to grab me once, but I managed to block and give him a gift he won't ever forget." Tory explained making a motion with her arm. "Oh. Wow. You seem like you already know how to kick ass pretty well. What do you need Cobra Kai for?" Aisha asked her. "I've had a couple kickboxing lessons, but I've always wanted to smash boards blindfolded." Tory explained. "Oh, you saw that." Aisha said with a smile. "Mm-hmm." Tory sounded. "The secret is poking little holes in the blindfolds." Aisha whispered. "Cool." Tory told her. "Damn! Way to ruin the magic for me." I said before going to pay for my Gatorade. "Hey, you guys wouldn't wanna go to the beach with me, would you? It'd be nice to have some backup." Aisha asked. "Guess I could suffer through a day at the beach. What about you?" Tory answered looking over at me. I smiled. "Never been to a beach club before. Could be fun." I said with a shrug.

BEACH CLUB

"OK, this is not the beach. Where are the homeless dudes on rollerblades and the guys shoving shitty hip-hop demos in your face?" Tory asked. "Yeah and the annoying birds that shit on you?" I added. The three of us were standing on a balcony overlooking the club. I was shirtless wearing black boardshorts with a green dragon printed on the left thigh. "No, don't worry. They'll come after they pass out the hors d'oeuvres." Aisha reassured. "I knew they were here somewhere." I joked. "You guys hungry?" Aisha asked. "I thought you were never gonna ask." I said immediately. "Come on, follow me." Aisha stated. "Cool tattoo." Tory complimented. "Thanks." I said looking down at my arm. We followed Aisha to a buffet table. "Hey." Aisha said. I looked up to see Sam. "So, how's it going?" Sam asked. Aisha scoffed. "You realize we're not OK." Aisha told her. "What are you mad about?" Sam asked her. "You guys are the ones who stomped all over our Valley Fest demo." Sam pointed out. "Only after your father attacked our dojo. What were we supposed to do?" Aisha argued. "He didn't attack you guys." Sam said. "No? "Snake in the grass"? Real subtle." Aisha said. "He's just trying to do the right thing." Sam explained. "What, so, Cobra Kai is wrong?" Aisha asked her. "It's not wrong. It's just...what are we doing?" Sam stated. "Arguing. Was that not obvious?" I voiced. "It's our summer vacation. We're at the beach, and we're fighting about karate?" Sam said with a smile. "When we should be fighting about boys." Aisha stated. "Or who's gonna get the last piece of pretzel bread." Sam voiced. "Oh, no, that's mine." Aisha announced taking it. "So, it's just you and abs all summer, training?" Aisha asked Sam. "I don't understand what's happening." I whispered to Tory. "I think they're talking about a boy." She answered. "Oh!" I said with a nod. "Yeah, doesn't sound like my kinda conversation." I said before the both of us laughed.

Aisha and Sam walked away together leaving Tory and me alone. "So. Where do you live?" She asked me. "Oh. Nowhere fascinating. Just an apartment with my dad in Reseda." I said. "Miguel and Sensei Lawrence live there also." I added. She nodded her head. "Same. I also live in an apartment. With my mom and little brother." She voiced. I noticed her stash a bottle of vodka into her purse. She looked at me. "You don't have a problem with that do you?" She asked. "Nope." I answered with a smirk. "But little known tip, it would be better if you didn't make it so obvious." I said with a chuckle heading down the stairs with her following after me. I walked over to Aisha and Sam. "Hey. Look what I got?" Tory told Aisha. "Where did you get that?" Aisha asked her. "I swiped it from the bar. Oh, relax. All the adults are getting wasted. No one's gonna notice if we have a little fun." Tory said. "You should put that back. You'll get into big trouble." Sam told Tory. Tory chuckled. "And you are?" Tory asked with a smile. "Oh. Sam, this is Tory. Tory, Sam. Sam you already know Jack." Aisha introduced. "Oh, the Sam. Come on. Like anyone's gonna miss one bottle of vodka. I could swipe half of the silverware in this place before anyone would notice." Tory explained. "You shouldn't steal anything." Sam countered. "What are you, a nun? Come on, are we gonna drink or not?" Tory stated directing the last sentence towards Aisha. "OK, one drink." Aisha answered. "That's my girl." Tory told her as they walked away. "Sam looked over at me. "I thought you were better." She said. "Well, we can't all be the rich like you, Sam. Some of us actually have to survive." I countered before walking away.

A WHILE LATER

I walked behind a drunk Tory and Aisha as we left the beach club. "Wait, I'm sorry. You gave her a front wedgie?" Tory asked Aisha. "I split that bitch in two." Aisha answered. "Oh my God." Tory stated. "Hey!" A girl called out. I turned around to find Sam. "My mom's missing her wallet." Sam told us. "Sucks for her." Tory answered. "You're telling us this because?" I asked. "You wouldn't know anything about that?" Sam asked us. "Wait. Wait, what are you saying?" Aisha asked Sam. "Just give me the wallet, and I won't tell Security." Sam told Tory and me. "You sure are quick to accuse us, LaRusso." I spat. "Are you freaking kidding me?" Tory asked. "Sam, she didn't steal your mom's wallet." Aisha told her. "Right. And she didn't steal a bottle of vodka, and wouldn't steal half the silverware in here." Sam argued. "Listen, I didn't rob your mom, bitch. Let's get out of here." Tory stated. She turned to leave when Sam grabbed Tory's purse. "Get off of me!" Tory exclaimed pushing Sam away. Sam went crashing into the table behind her. She was covered in food. Tory walked away flustered. I looked at Sam shaking my head. "I've been with her the entire time, Sam. If you didn't like her, you should've just said so. Now, who's the dumbass?" I told her before walking away to catch Tory.

"Hey! Tory! Wait up! Tory!" I called out running after her. I caught up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. She immediately grabbed my arm and flipped me over her shoulder, slamming me into the sand pressing her knee against my chest, with her fist raised in the air. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait!" I exclaimed with wide-eyes. "Jack! Don't do that!" She shouted climbing off of me and helping me to my feet. "Sorry. I should've...remembered who...I was running after." I said between breaths. "Give me one moment, you...knocked the wind out of me." I said leaning on my knees. "Sorry." She said. I stood up. "Don't worry about it." I stated pulling my hair out of my face. "You good?" I asked her. "Little bitch accused me of stealing her mom's wallet. Of course I'm not." She answered. "That's what I figured." I sighed. I looked up and down the beach. "You wanna go for a walk?" I asked. She looked at me before smiling. "Sure." She answered. "Cool." I voiced returning the smile. We walked beside one another down the beach talking and learning about each other.
