"That settles it then," Chiron then raised from his wheelchair, exposing his hindquarters.
"It is almost time for dinner, everyone should head back now. Thank you for your time. This council meeting is now adjourned." he nodded and then started to walk out of the room first.
Everyone else followed. Now there was only me, mom, dad, uncle Will and uncle Leo in the room.
Mom stood up from her seat with a look on her face that says 'this matter is over, do not bother me again.'Uncle Will walked to me and said, "hey, I think you'd understand. I only agreed because of your injury. It would take probably a month to heal. Also, I've just noticed only now that you may have broken bones."
I nodded and sighed. Mostly because I was feeling tired, and I had nothing to say to him. I figured it already."Annie, how could you do that to my favorite goddaughter? You should have seen how she handled those grain spirits alone!" Uncle Leo explained in front of mom, but she just sighed and waved her hand.
Dad walked past them, then in no time he was out of the room, and next was mom and uncle Leo.
I was left in the room with uncle Will."Come on now, kid. Dinner time." He said, and if only my ankle wasn't swelling and hard to walk on, I would've ran straight to the firing range or the arena and skipped dinner and avoided everyone else.
Instead, I let him help me stand and walk towards the dining pavilion. In the distance, a conch horn blew and suddenly demigods also came in from all directions.
Some looked like they had their activities finished already an hour ago because they were all neat and looked freshly-showered. Then some looked like they had just come back from their usual activities, because they were either filthy or sweating and looked extremely tired and hungry.Uncle Will helped me to the cabin three table, where my dad was already sitting. I sat to the bench in front of him, and thanked uncle Will then he went towards the Apollo cabin table.
"Hey, dad. Thanks." I said, looking up at my dad's black hair.
"Yeah. I'm sorry I couldn't prevent your mom from doing so." he answered, his face still looked mad.
I looked around and saw mom was sitting in the Athena cabin table, along with the other Athena kids.
"It's okay, dad." I said, trying to convince him, but when I thought of it, it's really not okay.
It was now evening, the torches were all lit which made the pavilion light up bright orange.
Chiron stood from his seat, gave a short speech about how the overpopulation now had a solution which should hopefully solve the problem. Everyone cheered, and afterwards, nymphs came and served food in the tables.Luke had only now come and sat next to me. He gave dad a nervous "hi, dad" along with a half-hearted smile. Dad nodded back at him.
I looked at the food that was served, lamb stew, mashed potatoes and smoked-chicken and a few other side dishes.
Everyone now stood holding their plates towards the fire to give the offerings, the best part of whatever you had, to give to the gods because apparently they liked the smell of it.
The line was headed by the Athena cabin.
I stood behind my dad, who was standing oddly calm. You see, he always shuffled here and there because he can never keep still. Looking from his back, I can only assume that he was really upset, if he was this still.
When it was our turn, he took a chicken leg and dropped it into the fire.
I heard him say, "Poseidon," and then he was silent for a moment, probably prayed to his father for guidance or whatever, like he always had.
When it was my turn, I dropped a piece of bread for Poseidon, asked if he'd been doing well and thanked him for having a son so great and thoughtful and then I dropped a chicken piece in for lady Artemis.
