April's P.O.V;
"I swear earlier today you was telling me to hurry up" Matt smirked,resting his head on my shoulder,staring into the mirror I was doing my lip gloss in.
"Shh,I'm done now anyway" He moved away from me and I grabbed my bag from the chair. I had got changed into some leather look leggings,my You Me At Six shirt along with a pair of converse and Matt's jacket. I had forced Matt to wear a smart shirt just to look a little presentable,even though it was only his Mom's house.
"Are we going then?" I raised an eyebrow. Matt opened his mouth to say something when my ringtone started to play. I fumbled through my bag and pulled the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" I didn't look to see who was ringing. There was no answer,just heavy breathing.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
"April?" The voice croaked.
"Who is this?" I put my phone on speaker so Matt could hear the stranger.
"When little Matty finds out what happened to you,the real you,he'll dump you on the spot,he won't want the baggage" Matt glared at my phone.
"Who the fuck is this?" He hissed.
"Ooh,its Matt! The amazing Matt i've heard so much about,has she told you?"
"Its depends was you're talking about"
"Her past,the abuse,her school life?"
"Pretty much,yeah"
"Oh I see,all truth?Has she told you about me?What she did?"
"James" I mumbled,realising who it was.
"Yes its me,have you told him?"
"That you ruined my life,yes" I spat.
He cackled "No then,you haven't told him" His tone lowered "I'm gonna leave you guys,see you when you get home" He put the phone down. We both just stood there,staring at the phone.
"Whats he talking about?"
"Can't we leave that till later?" I put my phone back into my bag and rushed over to the door. I was about to open it when he grabbed my wrist and spun me around.
"Now" He sighed.
I laughed,trying to brush off this little conflict "Seriously its nothing,he dated my mom,the abuse and then something happened,end of story"
"Well,what happened?" He looked up at me. His green eyes clouded over with tears. I felt my heart break and a tear run down my face.
"I hit him" I stared directly into his eyes "I hit him with a brick"
"What?" His tone of voice was mixed of confusion and shock. I wiped the tear from my face.
"It was self defence and I didn't hit him that hard..Just hard enough to knock him out! He tried to attack Joven when he dropped me off one time for being late an-and I-I hit him" He pulled me in for a hug and kissed my head.
"Its ok,shush"
"I will never forget it,he was knocked out for ages and when he woke up he launched at me and attacked me,he tried to rape me but my mum walked in" His grip on me tightened when I said the word rape. "It was just after they hit her the first time,they hit her in Califorina,but I couldn't tell anyone,I couldn't bring myself to do it"
I laughed slightly "God,I do have baggage!" Matt laughed back.
"I don't care,I love you,I don't care about your shitty past" He released me and kissed me gently "Now lets go to my mom's,she'll be wondering where we are"
"I'm sorry for not telling you" I sighed.
"Its fine" He smiled "Now come on!" and with that,he dragged me out the door and we dashed downstairs and straight into the car park and into the car. He jumped in and drove off down the road. It wasn't far from our hotel so we was there within 10 minutes. We slid out the car and walked over to the door. I grabbed Matts hand tightly,nerves taking over me. He giggled and kissed me on the cheek just as the door opened.
"Matt! Come in hun,everybodys waiting" We both stepped in and his mum opened the door to the living room,where a burst of light suddenly shone onto to us.
"Guys,this is April,the one I told you about?"
"Your girlfriend,OOOH!" His mum grinned "Nice to meet you sweetheart" She shook my hand.
"Hi,nice to meet you too" I grinned. I walked into the room and shook his dads and his brothers hands.
"No way is that her,by the way mom described her she was a right nerd" I laughed at his brothers remark,sitting on the couch.
"Well,that description is correct" He laughed slightly. His little brother looked up at me,big green eyes like Matt.
"Shes on Youtube! I watch her shes awesome!" He grinned.
"Aw thank you!" I grinned and turned to the screen to see him playing Super Mario Bros on Wii.
"Would you like to play?" I smiled and took the controller he was holding. I sat next to him on the floor and started to play. When I was playing I caught Matt and his dad smiling at us while his mum was in the kitchen cooking our dinner. I smiled to myself and carried on playing the game.
