After snapping out of my music induced trance, I looked up to see the seatbelt sign flashing, demanding me to put it back on.
I put my seatbelt back on and leaned back, closing my eyes and just generally thinking about everything. I'll be in California soon, where everything will be fine and I'll get to see my bestfriend again.
Fuck them and my past involving them, just look to the future, a happy future.
Matt Sohinki's P.O.V;
"I told you I'm the best at Super Smash Bro's, but you didn't listen!" I squeaked proudly, grinning like a maniac at Joven.
"Hmph, well you are good, but you don't need to rub it in!" Joven said, giving me the death stare at the same time.
"I was wondering if you'd like to come pick April up with me? Everyone else is busy and I don't want to be alone" He said, pouting at me.
"Fine. As long as you stop pulling that face, It's disgusting"
"Thank you, you're such a good friend Matt" He frowned and walked away, mumbling to himself. I knew he was being sarcastic, I'm not stupid.
Actually, I think i've just made a stupid mistake. I felt my gut do a flip when I agreed to going to pick her up. Her. I am actually nervous to meet her, and i'm normally confident. She's beautiful, smart and her sense of humor is perfect. And then theres me. I didn't need telling that I didn't have a chance 'cause I already knew. But I wanted a chance, I want her to be mine. Not some douche-bags who would never understand her. I looked down at the floor, what was I thinking. April's amazing. I started to watch her on Youtube when Joven got back in touch with her, he recomended her to us actually. At first I wasn't sure, I didn't normally watch that many people on Youtube. But when I saw her, I felt my cheeks switch from a pale colour to a bright red. I felt myself grow a grin to match the Cheshire Cat's. She made me feel happy inside. I don't know why exactly, she just did. In simple terms, I was falling in love with a girl that I didn't even know and a part of me felt she would never love me back.
"Oi, Sohinki! We have to go, April's landing in just under a hour, COME ON!!" I snapped my head up, forcing myself out of this love-struck trance.
"Oh, sorry, right lets go.."
"God cheer up, you're going to meet my bestfriend in the whoooole world" Joven cried happily, spinning and grinning like a fool.
I began smiling too. "Come on then douche, lets go" And with that, we both ran to the car and jumped in.
When we was about 10 minutes into the drive, things got a little awkward..
"So, what do you think about April? You know, first impressions from her videos?" He asked, eyes firmly on the road.
I just stared at him for a few seconds. Was he really asking me that? I felt my heart sink, oh no.
"Er, she's great, she really knows what she's talking about"
He smiled. "Don't lie to me Matt, I've seen you"
"Pardon?" My eyes widened.
"Watching her videos in your spare time, grinning like a fool, blushing when I speak about her"
I turned and stared out the window, I didn't have the guts to answer him.
"I won't tell her you've got a little crush on her" he smirked.
"What?"
He blanked me.
"Don't blank me Joven! I'm trying to speak to you here!" I pleaded
Still no answer.
"Ugh, fine. I do like April, a lot. I think she's amazing, smart, funny as fuck and beautiful. So beautiful"
"Well I didn't expect that" He laughed and smirked again "I would pinch your cheeks and say awwww but i'm trying to drive"
"Hmph"
"I think you'd make a good couple"
I looked at him with wide eyes. "Really?"
"Yeah! You have similar personalites and you're both cute. She's cuter than you though"
I gave him a sypathetic smile, "Thanks pal, how about we talk about the new Halo? Talk like real men instead of this lovey-dovey stuff"
"Go for it"
It was actually nice to get it off my chest, not holding it in anymore. I trusted Joven with my life, he was one of my best friends. Plus, as he knew April so well, he can help me with her.
I felt happier now. Much happier.
After a long talk about Halo 4, we pulled up outside the airport and stepped outside into the musky air.
"Nice night, eh?"
"Yes Matt, It is" As he looked up, I noticed a figure standing in the light of doorway.
I knew it was April straight away, she was pretty tall and her dark hair and big green eyes weren't hard to miss.
"Hey, Is tha-" I was cut short by Joven squawking and jumping around.
And before I knew it he was off.
April's P.O.V;
"JOVEN!" I squeeked as I saw him running straight for me.
He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in for a tight bear hug
"AAH,APRIL! Its so good to see you, I've missed you so much!"
"Aw,Joven! I've missed you too, I'm so happy to be home!!"
He pulled away and picked up my suitcase
"Come on, I've got someone you'd like to meet"
"Huh? Really?" I said, the corners of my mouth turning up slightly.
As we approched his car I realised who it was.
My heart rate grew faster and I felt my cheeks flash red. I'm so glad its dark out.
"April, I'd like you to meet Matt Sohinki, one of my very good friends"
"Its nice to meet you April" Matt said, stretching his hand out.
I shook his hand. "Plesure to meet you too Sohinki" I said, smiling gently.
As we got into the car, I thought my heart was going to fly out of my chest. My head was pounding with thoughts of him.
"You're driving Sohinki, I'm tired so i'm gonna sleep in the back, night guys"
Oh no Joven, do you want to see my heart lying on the floor after flying out of my chest? Seriously?
You can do this April. Its Sohinki, the amazing, beautiful Sohinki. It'll be fine. Chill.
I took a deep breath.
Remember, don't act like a twat, be yourself. Thats what he will like..Right?
