"We're here" I looked at the window. In front of me was a quite big house with a beautiful front garden. It was a simple house in a row of other houses, it was so warming and homely. There was ivy growing up the side of the wall just to add to the beautiful scenery, I was in shock that a single guy lives here on his own, there must be so much room for him.
"You live here?" I grinned. It looked perfect.
"Yup" Joven grinned back at me "Nice eh? Had to get some room to store all my junk"
"Oh my god, its amazing, I love it!" I jumped out the car and went to the boot to get my suitcase. I could feel my phone buzzing in my pocket, I knew it was Ruby. I don't want to argue with her, I was too drained from a long day to argue.
I felt a hand brush over mine, grabbing the suitcase's handle.
"Ah, let me get that for you"
"Thanks" I said smiling. My gut did a flip, just a little touch can send thousands of sparks flying. I wanted to squeek but that would creep him out. We all then wandered into Joven's after he un-locked the door. I stared in wonder and the size of the house. It was super clean and he had made it look so pretty!
"Welcome home April"
This time I did squeek, making the two boys laugh.
I hugged them both and ran up the stairs. Well at least tried, its hard to run up the stairs with a huge suitcase and bag.
I peeked in every room until I found mine. I started laughing as I turned on the light, Batman wallpaper, typical. It was a pretty big room, with a double bed, a wardrobe and a bedside table. I ran in and jumped onto the bed. Heaven. Absolute heaven.
"Nice eh?" A grinning Joven stood leaning against the doorframe "I picked out the wallpaper myself, I would make an amazing interior designer"
"Haha, yeah its amazing, Its so much bigger than my room in Texas"
"Heh, come on, Sohinki's ordering pizza and you need to ring your mom" Josh gave me a stern look.
I sighed. I didn't want to but I knew I had to. I'd just get bitched at by Ruby and James. I knew they didn't like me but they had to put up with me cause of my mom.
That was just one of the reasons they kicked me out. The big reason was because of what I saw that night.
Matt Sohinki's P.O.V;
"Er, yeah, one second.. JOVEN WHAT NUMBER HOUSE IS THIS?" I shouted up the stairs, covering the speaker of my phone.
"16! You've been here enough times, you should fucking know!"
"hmph" I un-covered the speaker "Yeah, 16 Overture Drive, ok thanks bye"
I watched as Joven and a very nervous April walked down the stairs. She was shaking like mad, it was horrible. I can't believe she's so scared to speak to her mom. It made me wonder if there was a lot more behind it than I first thought..
"Hey, don't be nervous, it'll be ok" I put my arm around her and pulled her in for a hug. I was just a bit taller than her so her head rested on shoulder.
"Don't wor-" I was cut off my her completely sobbing into my shoulder.
Joven placed his hand on her shoulder "It'll be fine, do it now and get it over and done with"
She mummbled into my shoulder and moved back. She looked up at me, her beautiful green eyes clouded with tears. It made my slightly mad to see her like this. Such a happy-go-lucky girl sobbing her heart out cause of her step family,hm.
We walked into the living room and she sat down and pulled out her phone.
She couldn't even dial the number she was shaking so much. What had happened to her in Texas?
When she finally dialled the number, she lifted it towards her ear.
"He-Hello mom?"
April's P.O.V;
"Darling, where are you? Are you ok and safe?"
I laughed slightly. "I'm fine, can you go somewhere private?"
"ee-er yeah, of course" I heard her walk to the garden, the tap of her heels on the wooden floor to the crunching of leaves. "Where are you then? Who are you with?"
"I'm in California, with Josh"
"Josh Ovenshire? Your old bestfriend?"
"He never wasn't my bestfriend, but yes"
"Oh sorry, how is he?"
"He's fine thanks"
"You don't sound ok, have you been crying?"
"That doesn't matter, are you ok? What about them?"
"Darling, I'm fine, why wouldn't I be? plus, they're fine. Just worried sick"
"Phaha, ok then. They don't care, i'm surprised they're not having a party" I spat horribly. I felt terrible but it was true.
"Love.."
"Mom, i'm fine and safe, i've got a roof over my head and food on the table. I'm fine with Josh, you have no need to worry"
"Good, but i'll never stop worrying about you, you know that" She laughed gently "Look, hun I have to go, James is er...calling me, I love you bye!"
"I love you too, bye"
She put the phone down. I felt sick. 'James is er..calling me'. She was always the worst at lying.
I can imagine him standing there, giving her the death stare, signaling her to come in, or else. Or else.
Ugh, I hate them. I HATE THEM SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING THEY'VE DONE.
I started sobbing again.
"Hey,shush, it didn't sound that bad" said Joven, slightly smiling.
"Yo-you don't understand-d" I managed to get out.
"Well let us understand, tell us whats going on cause its obviously upsetting you a lot.."
I just looked at my feet, un-able to speak.
"You need to get it off your chest if it's upsetting you so much, please April!"
"THEY HIT HER, THEY HIT HER OK, THEY'VE HIT ME TOO,OK?"
