OLLIVANDERS
A week had gone by since Tom and Astrid had been staying at a little inn. Dumbledore had dropped the two off and set them to be taken care of by an old lady who didn't seem to pay attention to them. The pair, for the most part, went unbothered and stayed in their little rooms waiting for any more instruction. They had received their acceptance letters the day prior, Astrid had just left it on the dresser whilst Tom made sure to hide it underneath his clothes for what he said was 'no particular reason.'
Mornings at the inn were usually dull and bland. It seemed as if no one had stepped foot in there for decades, and yet about every 20 minutes, a random wizard would come barging in. "You would think for all the guests they have, they would at least take care of the place," said Tom out of the blue.
"She's an old lady, Tom. I hardly doubt she could do all the work herself," replied Astrid.
"Precisely! That's why I need you two to help clean the upstairs floor!" replied the old lady easing in on the conversation. Astrid calmly got up and asked her for the cleaning supplies while Tom stayed seated, glaring at the lady. "Do you not have elves for that?"
"Kaneby?" questioned the lady with a shriek. "That old thing can't clean for the life of me! Now get to work, you little twerp, after all this is MY inn, and you're the one staying in it! FOR FREE MAY I ADD!"
Tom rolled his eyes and got up, taking the enchanted broom from Astrids hand. "HEY!"
"Find another; I'm sure there are many."-
A few minutes had passed since they started cleaning the inn, and doors suddenly burst open. Astrid jumped at the sound of it, which caused her to accidentally drop the bucket of water in her hand. "THERE THEY ARE!" yelled an enthusiastic Dumbledore. "Oh, sorry about that, miss Maury!"
"It's alright!" she replied, looking down at her now wet dress.
Dumbledore pulled out his wand and effortlessly cast a drying spell. "Now then!"
"What do you want, Albus? These kids aren't set to leave until tomorrow morning."
"I'm quite aware of that, Agnes, but wouldn't you say it would be more efficient for them to go to Hogwarts with wands?"
"I'd say it outta be efficient for them not to go at all!" replied the old lady.
"Well, opinions are called opinions for a reason! Now then, children, we must visit a few shops before tomorrow morning, if that's aloud with you, of course!"
"Of course it is! Wouldn't you say Tom?" said Astrid looking back at Tom.
Tom just nodded and began putting the cleaning supplies back in the little closet beside him.
