Meredith knew that she shouldn't be having these thoughts about him. After all he was married...he now belonged to someone else but exactly how could she get that through her head...much less through her heart or other parts of her body. Those parts of her body that made her ache for his touch again. She had overheard a conversation that he had with his wife while she cowered in the back of the elevator hoping her presence was unnoticed by the bickering couple before her.

She recalled them speaking of a trip that Addison was going to take. If she was not mistaken she was to leave today. Would it be that morally wrong for her to call- no meredith what are you thinking. She mentally scolded herself for having the thought.

Across town followed by acres of land, a certain neurosurgeon lied awake in his bed thinking of the same young intern who currently found herself in a mental battle between what her body was begging of her and what was considered morally correct.

Memories of their time together flooded derek's mind as he laid there in only the presence of the moonlight. Addison had taken a trip to visit her parents and would not be returning for about two weeks.

Now it was the understatement of the century to say that Derek found himself somewhat content with the quiet nature that his trailer without the rustle and noise of a companion though he could not bring himself to total tranquility being as his mind was currently occupied.

As much as he had tried to keep her far from his mind as he shut his eyes all he could think about was meredith...her tiny ineffectual fists, her hair, that intoxicating lavender smell that drove him wild, the way he knew with utmost certainty what they would be doing if she was with him... well if he hadn't made the stupidest decision by picking addison...they would be here together. He knew exactly how the night would have played out. She would have came into the trailer and went straight for her drawer in his dresser, he always had loved how she never found it necessary to ask, she always made herself comfortable-something addison had never done, she hated how small the trailer was, yet meredith found it cozy, comfortable, she was never out of place here, always made herself at home. she would hav exchanged into that Dartmouth t shirt that fit her so well. they would have eaten a simple dinner which would have ended in bed.

He would have pulled her closer to him placing kisses to the side of her temple breathing in that smell of lavender that drove him crazy. Just the thought of it was driving Derek mad, he truly could no longer resist. His mind was flooded with thoughts of her. He could feel the bulge in his old pajama pants grow, the feeling leading him to make a decision that was most likely not the most thought through one. without paying it one more thought Derek climbed out of bed and walked over to his couch where his phone lied, picking it up his finger hovered over the contact name that read her name. If he called her, would he be met with the sustain and anger that he had been before or would she welcome him into her thoughts as she had done so many times before she was aware that he had a wife?

There was truly only one way to find out.

Ring.
Ring.
Ring.

Ironically across town, the woman who filled his mind laid in the same position as he had remembering all of the time they had spent together.

Though her thoughts were abruptly haunted when she heard her phone ring.

Meredith proceeded to get out of bed and search for where the ringing was coming from.

Ring. Where was it? She couldn't place where the sound was coming from. Ring. Under the blanket. Found it.

Ring. Who is calling that this time of night? Meredith thought to herself as she picked up the phone from the tangled up bed she had just been laying in.
