WOW! I haven't updated this in a while but I just got a break from school so I will be updating more regularly.

•So this One Shot is about what I think should have happened in season 4 when MerDer were broken up.

Meredith had always known that her relationship with Derek had been rocky from the beginning.
After all she hadn't really been open about her past, her mother, her dark and twisty...ness or whatever, and it was sure as hell that Derek haven't been hadn't been honest with her.

There was just something about them together that although she knew they were bad for each other, she just couldn't stay away from him.

All that she wanted to do was stay away from him but for one reason or another they always seemed to cross paths.

Oh God! Why did this have to be her day? Meredith thought as she saw him walk into the hospital arm in arm with Rose.

As much as she really wanted to not hate the fact that he was with someone else, it killed her to see him with someone else.

Not wanting to cross paths with the "new happy couple" she internally cringed, Meredith turned and walked in the opposite direction.

Hours had passed since the last time she had seen him and her day had gone surprisingly well. As soon as she finished up charting she would be able to go home.

Finally, she thought as she walked to her car.
She could hear the sky rumble as she wandered to the parking lot.

After unlocking the car, she turned the key in the ignition, surprised at the sound of defeat it coughed out.

Great! The one thing her day was missing was for her car to not start.

When she thought things couldn't get any worse, she realized the phone she had gone through all of the work searching for in her purse was dead.
It could clearly be inferred by the fact that the sun was flung down that it was about six pm which meant that all of her friends had gone home.

Now what would she do?

At that exact moment, Derek walked across the parking lot, maybe this situation was a little ironic considering she had without knowing been parked near him.

CRAP

All that her day needed was to include another awkward encounter with Derek Shepherd.
It's not like she could run away from the situation no matter how much she wanted to.

"Meredith are you okay" she heard him ask as he walked over to her, apparently oblivious to the fact that the last person that she wanted to see at that moment was him.

"Yes I'm fine" she responded with a snarky attitude that caught him off guard.

"You are clearly not fine, why don't you let me help you" Derek stated calmly, giving her a sympathetic smile in hopes of settling whatever silent war had formed between them in these past few months

He had hoped that after Addison, their relationship could be mended, and at one point he truly had believed they had fixed their turbulent status... little did he know they would be in a worse situation...somehow.

"Okay fine...my car won't start" she spoke again, her voice clearly tired from the draining day he knew she had-had.

"Well i can't necessarily tell you that i can fix your car...we both know i'm not mechanic, but i could take you home" derek offered not sure if she would take offense to his offer or if she would accept understanding that she really didn't have another option, all of her friends had gone home.
