The clink of chains. The scent of cigarettes and alcohol. The blur of cars as you get dragged towards a building. Half unconscious, you try to get a glimpse of the person who has their hands attached to your wrists, but you fail and feel your eyelids grow heavy. Giving in, you close them and fall into unconsciousness.

"B*tch! Put her down!" A gruff yell echoed through your brain, rattling you to wake up. "Boss won't be too happy if he finds out about this."

"Why should he care? It's just a woman. Besides, she was snooping around!" The voice growled back, and you felt yourself falling before hitting the ground. The man had let go of your wrists, causing you to plummet. Still, you would not open your eyes.

"Let's get this over with," the final voice, a calm, collected tone washed over your body. The sound of a dagger raking across metal bars caused your eyes to fly open, taking in the sight.

"F**k, she's awake." The man who had captured you regained control of your wrists.

Three men stood above you, and it took a moment for your eyes to focus. But when they did, you could see each of their features in detail.

The one holding your wrists had dark brown hair tied back in a white headband, his face half covered by a black mask. Chains clinked at his sides, glinting in the moonlight ruthlessly.

The one next to him, looking rather ominous, had lighter brown locks that were brushed away by spiked white sunglasses. His face was uncovered, revealing deep brown eyes and scarred cheeks on a pale canvas.

The third, a few steps back, held a silver dagger that shone more than the first man's chains. His blonde hair was half hidden by a pure white hoodie, but not covering a large scar that started at his cheek and went over his right eye.

They all wore the same necklace, a deep red cloud that hung on a silver chain. Recognizing it, you couldn't pinpoint where you had seen it before.

"Nick, are you really sure we should do this?" The ominous man stated flatly, looking at the man holding down your wrists.

"George, you're too much of a softie. She literally could've taken something and reported us to the police and you still would've hesitated. Clay made the wrong decision hiring you." The man, Nick, scowled and tightened his grip on your wrists.

"Clay?" You muttered, a memory sinking back into your brain. "Who do I know named Clay?"

"Are we going to kill her or not?" The third man said, his voice bored. You watched as he fiddled with the dagger between his index finger and his middle finger, intrigued. George scoffed.

"Get it over with quick, police aught to be doing their rounds soon enough." George backed up, letting the third man walk up slowly with the dagger.

"What the f**k? I don't think so, sir." You narrowed your eyes, squirming around to get out of Nick's grasp. He laughed and held onto you tighter as you felt your jeans ripping at the knee.

"Nick, I can't kill her quickly when she's shapeshifting into a worm," the man chipped, rolling his eyes. Nick shot him a dirty look before pinning down your legs with his arm, holding both wrists in one hand.

"Christ Luke, get a move on! She's not very fun to pin down." Nick gritted his teeth as you tried to lift your legs up, finding that his strength was much better than yours.

"Do you want me to, torture first, or just make it painless?" Luke drawled, watching you struggle. Your eyes met for a moment, his calm blue meeting your fiery y/e/c ones.

"There will be none of that." A cold, dark voice sounded from behind Luke.

"Clay! Uh, we weren't doing anyth-" George babbled, gesturing at Luke to put the dagger away. Luke just sighed and turned to look at Clay, the dagger still in view. Suddenly you remembered why everything was so recognizable.

"It was an accident." Luke confirmed, slowly blinking at Clay. He ignored him.

"Let go of her, you f**king b*stard. Babe, you okay?" Clay walked over to you, helping you up and ignoring Nick as he scrambled away.

"Babe?" All three men said in unison, disbelief flowing off them. You ignored them.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You didn't tell me there would be other people around here." You scoffed, letting him kiss you on the forehead. As he pulled away, you could see the three men behind him with their mouths wide open.

"Sorry about that, Boss." Nick chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. Clay turned, crossing his arms and staring at all three of them with furious green eyes.

"From now on, any woman you see will not be murdered in alleyways unless I say so. And if you see her again" he pointed back at you, "treat her like she owns the place. Because technically she does now." Clay growled, the men nodding solemnly. "Did I make myself clear?"

"Yep."

"Yes sir."

"Won't happen again."

"Alright then. Let's get back to the party; there's much to discuss tonight." Clay lead everyone out of the alleyway, pointing towards his limo.

"Party? I didn't dress for a party," you laughed, stepping inside the car.

"I think you hardly need it," Clay's face twisted into a grin before he jumped into the passengers seat.
