POV: Derek had just found out the truth and feels so bad about what he did and the way he treated her. He is now scrubbing in, trying to make a "sorry" speech for Mer.

«Oh what did I doooo? What am I gonna say.. I'm such an idiot, Okay I'm gonna say "I'm so sorry,if I new you were talking about George i would never say those things or do anything like that"  yeah that's good. No she is going to hate it... phhh what else could I say, maybe "I deserve it if you don't want to be with me but I love you so much, we can get through the difficulties together, please forgive me" no no no no I'm so bad at this» Derek said to himself and entered the O.R

After 5 minutes of waiting Meredith, Derek asked the nurses
-"where is my intern?"
-"Dr.Yang is on your service today, I'm going to page her"
-"No I asked for Dr.Grey instead. Page her please"
-"Right away Doctor"

Cristina enters the scrub room. When Derek sees her he immediately yells at her:
-"I told you to get Meredith"
-"she isn't coming" she responds
-"what? I'm her attending, she can't refuse to come"

She enters the O.R
-"look I can no longer be the messenger, do the surgery with me and you will talk to her later"
-"okay" he said

Meredith is eating with Alex.
-"what do you think I should do with Derek" she asks
-"look I'm not a girl, do you want me to bring Izzie?"
-"no, I want your opinion"
-"leave me alone"
-"Alexxxx! Come onnn!"
-"okay fine I think he treated you like shit, but he loves you. I mean he isn't messing with you, I've seen him around you"
-"that doesn't mean he isn't an ass. What he did was... I can't even explain how mad I am to him... but I also can't imagine my life without him..mmmmm I don't know" she says, gets up and leaves
Alex kept eating his hamburger.

Meanwhile Derek and Cristina were talking about Meredith,without telling her name or say anything specific about who they were talking about, because he didn't want all the nurses and anesthesiologists to know about their relationship problems, so as not to embarrass her...

Even though Meredith did not scrub in, she really wanted to see the surgery, because except her love life, she was an intern and she had to learn.
So she went to the gallery and hide behind a tall guy so that Derek wouldn't see her.

Though, when she entered, instead of hearing surgical terms, she heard Derek saying irrelevant things
-"our friend, keeps hurting her" Derek said
-"I know, he is such an idiot" she said and looked at him
-"he is and, he is gonna lose her" he replied disappointed with himself

-"maybe he should"
-"what do you mean?"
-"suction" Derek replied
Cristina suctioned and then asked again whispering
-"what do you mean?"
-"she deserves better, he is not the guy for her"
-"so he is going to break up with her?"
-"that's what he told me"
Cristina looked him with the «I know what going to happen next» eyes.
While everyone else didn't understand what were they talking about, Meredith did and so she stood app and left.

After hours of a successful surgery Derek and Cristina scrubbed out.
-"you're good at neuro" he said
-"I'm into cardio, sorry" she answered and left the room
He laughed and after some minutes he left too.

He is walking down the hallway now. determined to talk to Meredith. He is going to the E.R. where she was.

-"hey! I need to talk to you" Derek says
-"now? I..I can't, I have work" she says and she is about to leave
-"Meredith!" He catches her hand "the E.R are empty"
-"I have other things to do" she leaves
Derek leaves too

She kept avoiding him for 3 days... she always had something to do.. although, Derek could she she is not okay. He saw that she was unfocused and skeptical.

-"Meredith!" He says
-"I can't right now" she speeds up
-"Mer, come here" he pulls her by the hand and they enter a on-call room together.
-"what is that?" He says confused "you're clearly avoiding me, and we need to talk"
-"can't we do it another time?" She opens the door
-"no!" He responds, he closes the door and traps her with his hand between the door and his body
-"ok what?" She is looking at the floor
-"look, what I did was terrible, and I hurted you, again, and I keep doing this to you, so"
Her eyes are full of tears
-"I believe it would be best to break up"
-"I tried to prepare myself but it's not the same" she says clearly about to cry
-"what are you talking about?"
-"I heard you, that day in the O.R with Cristina, I heard you, and I tried to prepare myself, that is why I avoided you"
-"I'm doing this for you, I'm the bad guy, you deserve someone who is not gonna hurt you again, you deserve someone better"
-"even though I'm mad about Rose,really mad" she looks him in the eyes "I love you and I can't be without you, we may fight sometimes but-"
-"Meredith don't do this, it's even harder if you don't hate me for this, you have to move on"
-"but I don't want to"
-"I'm sorry, I don't want it either, do you think it's easy for me? No, but it's for the best"
-"so that's it? That's our end?"
Derek stayed silent
-"so what?,we aren't going to talk again? We are gonna talk only for work?" She says
-"we can stay friends, if that's what you want"
-"except it's not" she looks at him "I can't be your friend, because I can't see you as a friend"

the chemistry they feel right now is intense

-"can you she me as your friend?
She says with tears in her cheek
-"I...I can, I'll try" he is breathing heavily and looks at her, from head to toes
She is getting close to him
-"really?"

His heart beats like crazy
She grabs his hands, approaches him a little more, and looks him in the eyes
