It's the party and classical music plays through the banquet hall. Many rich people in their silks and suits mingled with each other. Some of his husbands acquaintances were here too. There are average citizens here as well. Yoongi recognized them to be his fathers employees. When he arrived with Junghoon many people greeted them politely.
It's been about an hour since they arrived and Yoongi was bored. He was currently talking to some of Junghoon's acquaintances while their significant others stood beside them as well. Well it was mostly Junghoon talking. The couples were bragging about each other's love lives. This of course made Yoongi and Junghoon feel awkward.
"What about you two? what kind of date ideas do you like?" One of his friends asked
"Uhh we don't really go on dates. I'm too busy" Junghoon shrugs
"Ahh well that's okay. I'm sure at home you can give each other treats" The friend winked
Junghoon laughs "It's not much happening. Yoongi is my love but" he looks down at the brunette with an unreadable expression "He usually would have to get dressed up for me to get into mood"
Yoongi gulps and looks down at his hands
"What how can you say that about him" Another friend chuckled awkwardly
"You know i'm honest. Me and Yoongi discussed this before, righr love?" He said with his hand behind Yoongi's neck "He may not be perfect like these other heirs, but he's average enough for me" he then kisses Yoongi's cheeks
The others awed at the action. Yoongi on the other hand felt like crying. He was basically just told he's not pretty. That he could never compare to these 'beautiful' young people in the room. It hurt. But he's not to show extreme emotions in front of people. It can make his family look bad.
They talked some more until Junghoon decided to talk to other guest and then go on a bathroom break. Yoongi took this opportunity to get away from the crowd. He to the upstairs area of the banquet hall that had only a few people standing around. On the second floor was a patio area. No one was outside so Yoongi was able to peacefully look up at the night stars.
He sighed deeply just thinking of recent events. He was stuck in his head until someone tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and saw it was the banquet hall servers that was walking around serving people champagne. Yoongi gasped because this man was familiar.
"Oh? you're that guy from the restaurant. What's wrong?"
The male gave a boxy smile and held the tray in front of Yoongi "would you like a glass of champagne?"
"O-Oh I don't drink"
"You look like you need it though"
Yoongi stared at the tray and then back at the server. He nodded his head and grabbed the champagne glass and took a small sip. The male put the now empty tray down and stood next to Yoongi.
"I'm on break. I hope you don't mind me getting some fresh air with you. I don't want to bother you"
"Oh no, I-It's fine. I just wanted to get away from those rich bastards"
The boy smiled "This is no insult to you but, aren't you also considered one of those 'rich bastards' it's strange to see a rich person bash their own like this"
"Well yeah I was just being honest. And I don't mean this in a rude way but was their a reason you came to talk to me?" Yoongi asked taking another sip of champagne
The taller male nodded "Yeah I was giving out the last of my champagne. But I just so happened to see you earlier and you looked very lonely. I was just making sure you were okay. Everyone else at this party looks all happy meanwhile you looked all....all sad I guess"
Yoongi gave a small smile "Well thanks for yoti concern uhh—"
"Taehyung. My name is Kim Taehyung"
"I'm Yoongi. Cha Yoongi"
"nice to meet such a beauty like you" Taehyung bowed
Yoongi blushed "Oh no i'm not. You're just flattering me too much"
"No I was serious. You're like SUPER pretty"
The brunette looks up to the sky again "I wish my husband was as nice as you. Back there my husband basically told his friends right in front of me that i'm not beautiful. And that I couldn't compare to those other pretty young heirs in the room. The sad part is.... I do believe him" at this point Yoongi felt tears form, he tried his best to hold it
Taehyung curses silently "what kind of lies are those! You're far from those studied words"
"I don't know. I-I can admit that I make mistakes that can possibly hurt my family. If people really see me as an ugly person how can I make my family proud. So h-he's right. I can do so much better with my appearanc—"
"No!" Taehyung shouts startling Yoongi. He softly places his hands on Yoongi's shoulders so that they were now standing face to face "Those are lies! You're far from ugly. Can I be honest with you?"
"Y-Yes"
"You Mr Yoongi, are one of the most beautiful people i've ever met. You're a living and breathing doll. If I were your husband i'd treat you like my prince— no fuck that, a king! Yoh deserve so much. And I need you to realize that you are worth it. And you are stronger than you think. You are more beautiful than you know"
"B-But you don't know me"
Taehyung shakes his head "I don't have to know you, to know what's obvious. In my eyes you're so beautiful. And you'll stay that way"
Yoongi blushed. He's never had someone strongly tell him this. It made his heart beat. It made him feel good, feel human. He genuinely smiled for the first that night, thanks to a boy named Kim Taehyung.
