He knew what that look in his mother's eye meant. He had seen it each time his siblings brought home their respective partners. It was the protective mother mode and he did not know if he should warn RJ that she had sort of adopted him. He was sure that RJ had his own parents and they too may have done what his mother was going to do. He knew what had caused her to become protective towards RJ. It was the quite doctor who had come along with them to dinner. He and RJ were looking at each other a lot like star crossed lovers.

"I am sorry as I may seem inquisitive but why are you looking at RJ like he is the reason for your happiness?" He heard his mother ask Dr Ali. There was pin drop silence at the table after that. Everyone put down their cutlery and waited for his answer.

"I beg your pardon ma'am, I know the question is meant for Zeeshan but I do believe he doesn't need to explain his actions to anybody. Please do excuse me as it sounds rude but here it isn't appropriate to question somebody especially when you have just met the person." Said Kim respectfully as she could. Before Carl could defend his mother, RJ spoke up " I guess I shouldn't have hidden this from you auntyji, it is always difficult to hide such things from a mother" He held up a finger when Kim was about to say something. You could see the the worry in her eyes but RJ looked at her reassuringly. She just nodded her head at him but her forehead was  creased with worry.

"I know I don't have to explain myself Kimmy but I don't think she is a stranger. Yes she saw you in a compromising situation but she isn't judgemental. She's cool" RJ said trying to lighten the situation. Kim gave him a wry smile and sat up straight to hear him out. " I met Zee because of Kimmy, you have a hopeless case come and ask her for help. She herself may have numerous things to do but she won't refuse you. So as usual when her neighbors asked her to babysit she accepted. It's not that she can't take care of children. You could say that it was bad timing or maybe bad luck but to me it was the best day of my life. Kunal who is the neighbors child is a very curious kid. He saw a crane moving above the building and decided to see where it went. He put his leg out the window without paying attention to the fact that the ledge was temporary and could not hold the weight of a boy. Kim had then just gone to check on dinner when the unmistakable sound of a crash and a boys cry reached her. Now to let you on a secret Kim is scared of needles and hates the smell of anaesthesia since the girls had a full schedule she called me up. I obviously being a good friend rushed them to the hospital where I met a very arrogant man who was extremely difficult to deal with. He first refused to admit Kunal, then made us sign numerous documents and then gave Kimmy an almost attack when he asked her to come into the emergency ward and hold the scared boys hand. It was a sight to remember alright! Brave, strong Kimmy was rooted to the spot, she looked like she'd rather stand in front of a train than go in. So again proving what a good friend I was I went in" RJ stopped when he heard Kim let out a very unlady like snort.

"Okay I may have had an ulterior motive when I went inside. But I did do it for you and maybe a little for me. So basically long story short I fell in love with the handsome, arrogant and extremely rude doctor." RJ said with a small grin and looked at everyone.

"But you said you were married to her" his mother asked pointing her finger at Kim taking that question out of Carl's mouth.

"Well I am legally married to her and I do love her but not the way I love Zee. I knew I was gay when I turned 19 and I never came out to my parents as they are orthodox. Kim became my wife more out of helping me out than because we planned it. She has been my beard for nearly 3 years now and I wouldn't want it any other way. My mother had come here three years ago with the intention of marrying me to her friends daughter. Kim being the champion of underdogs immediately put up this plan of the two of us being married and we even went as far as to elope to Grenta Green. Obviously I had a different "wedding" night than most grooms!!".

The next question that Mrs Bhatia asked made Kim lose her calm facade "do your parents know about this?".

What do you think about everyone knowing about RJ and Kim's marriage?? What do you think is going to happen now?? And most importantly what is going to be Kim's answer?
