Secrets and Sleepless Nights

The following day, y/n went to his boss's office to let him know her decision about the promotion.

"Good morning Mr. Dalimar." Y/n shaking her boss' hand.

"Ah, Ms. Y/ln. I see you've made your decision. Let's hear it." Mr. Dalimar said, sitting back on his chair.

Mr. Dalimar has become a mentor to the young girl. He has seen her potential and bares witnessed her achievements in the company. No doubt the girl's decision would make him proud.

"I've decided to accept your offer, sir. It would be a great privilege to be in such a high position and only in my late 20's." The architect said, smiling.

"That's great news! I'll tell Ireland right away! You'll be having at least 5 months before you get to transfer to Ireland, all papers are taken care of, your work in the office are also done just come to work for half a day for any formalities." Mr. Dalimar said, clapping his hands.

"You make me proud y/n. You'll do amazing things." Her mentor said as pride filled his heart.

"Thank you, sir. You won't regret your decision." The young girl said before heading out of his office to go on her own.

She sent her fiancé a brief text about how the meeting went out. Lucas immediately replied about how 5 months is enough for them to plan their small wedding. Y/n smiled, she was still quite unsure about the fast-tracking, but then again, Lucas proved to be a supportive man even after their fight. Her life is perfect... it was like what she has always dreamed of as a kid, and she's sure as hell won't throw it away just for a gut feeling that doesn't even make sense.

Her mind started drifting to her best friend. Surely she noticed how awkward things were after the moment they had with each other yesterday. Even so, she wanted to have as much time with Katie as possible before she had to move to Ireland. She couldn't call her right now... too scared of what Katie's voice would do to her. Nevertheless, she brings out her phone to text the brunette.

I know it's not technically Friday, but I have 5 months left before moving to Ireland. I feel like movie nights every Friday night is not enough. Are you free for one tonight?

The young girl typed on her phone, sending the message to her best friend.

Katie was happy to hear the news about y/n's promotion. More pleased that the younger girl wanted to spend more time with her. Without a second to waste, Katie dialed her friend's number and waited as the phone rang.

To say that y/n was shocked by Katie's caller id showing up on her phone was an understatement. She tried to hold her emotions as she answered the call. She can hear her heart pounding as she waits for Katie to speak on the other line.

"So movie night is on?" Katie asked, wanting to get a confirmation from her best friend. She was determined not to make things awkward between them after what happened yesterday. She was also determined to give her best friend the best movie nights she could ever have in the last remaining months.

Katie's voice made the girl's heart race. She was once again blown by the fact of how beautiful her friend's voice was.

The younger girl cleared her throat before speaking.

"Yes, if you're not too busy, of course." She said with a hint of joking in her voice, hoping their friendship would get back to normal.

Katie laughed at her friend's attempt to make her say yes, as if she could ever turn her down. She knew very well that she would drop everything in a heartbeat just to be with y/n.

"Of course, I'm not too busy when it comes to you, sweetie. So where would it be, your place or mine?"

Katie's sweet words once again made the young girl's heart pound. She was utterly confused about what she was feeling. She knew she was not supposed to feel this way, most especially now that she's about to get married... so why now? She asked herself.
