I jolted awake, I can't believe I slept off, I was supposed to be on the lookout, I stood up and looked around for any Mashgore, luckily I didn't see any sign of them so we are still safe, just then I spotted a purple beam, it's vertical and slim, it's on the ground not to far from the bottom of the mountain... Wait, it's widening, oh god, is that... Is that the portal? I'll go inform the ladies.

"Desire? Bridget? Wake up the portal is opening, come on get up!!!" Desire yelled.

"What!! Let us sleep a bit more." Bridget whined.

"If you do not wake up now, say bye-bye to seeing mom and dad again or any of that wacky strange troll you call friends, you all are the same thing." That seemed to wake her up because she jolted up and ran outside so did Desire.

"I'll walk you both to the portal." Desire said.

"Thank you, for everything," I told her genuinely.

"Less thinking more moving," Bridget said hastily, I was about to leave when Desire grabbed my jacket and kissed me, yeah you heard right she gave me a wet sloppy nice kiss, I was about to lean into the kiss and enjoy it when I remembered Amethyst!!!!! my girlfriend, I quickly pulled away.

"Ewe, you guys are disgusting," Bridget said grossed out.

"Like you have not done worst," I said

"Whatever." We started walking down the mountain trying hard not to fall, but Bridget fell and won't stop whining about it.

"My hands and feet hurt really, Harpy can you please carry me?" She asked politely.

Yeah, you heard her, now that we are on good terms she has shortened my name or like she likes to say, given me a nickname, of all the nicknames in the world she chose Harpy.

"I can't, even I am struggling, hang on we are almost at the bottom," I told her encouragingly.

"Okay, I'll try." She said.
We soon climbed down the mountain, all the while Desire was quiet I wonder what was up with her, so I decided to ask her.

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked concerned.

"Yeah, I am good." She said.

"Are you sure?" She doesn't sound good.

"Hmm." She replied.

"Okay, let's move fast, we are lucky we have not yet come across any Mashgores." We kept moving till we finally reached the portal, we were just eight feet away from it.

"Looks like this is it," I said with a smile.

"Yeah, it was a crazy adventure, feel free to stop by next time, by the way, you will need this." She said and handed us a sack containing....something.

"There will not be the next time," Bridget said with a terrified expression.

"What is in it?" I asked curiously.

"You can open it to find out." She said and I was about to do just that but I was stopped in my tracks, is that right? Whatever you know what I mean.

"Where are you liyphers going to?!" A Mashgore asked.

"We can move between realms without any problem can we not?" Desire asked warily.

"I suppose, but where are you headed?" He asked. How is that any of your business? I scoffed internally.

"My friends are going treasure hunting and I am just escorting them." She said and motioned for us to keep moving and they watched us like a hawk.

We reached right in front of the portal and it was already closing, Bridget walked through it first, I looked back to Desire and I smiled then walked through, we are almost home, now the real journey begins, like before we found ourselves in a place filled with nothing but snow.

"What now?" Bridget asked.

"I'll check if what Desire gave me could help us in any way." I open the sack bag and what I saw surprised me but brought a smile to my face, one out of all shocked me, I held it in between my index and middle finger.

"How is a ring going to help us, is it magical?" Bridget asked but I knew what it is, Desire's life source, why did she give it back to me, I spotted a note, I checked what was written in it but I couldn't read what was written, it was written in a weird language, I stuffed it in my pocket and wore the ring, I felt so weird afterward.

I pulled out all the other things that were there, elf clothes and fake elf ears were what was in it, she gave us a change of clothes, thank you Desire, I said in my mind and I heard a response.

"You are welcome." I heard someone say. I asked Bridget if she said anything, and she said no as she admired the gingerbread house, weird! Maybe I just imagined it. I handed her her elf clothes and disguise for her to change into.

"You can use the snow to wash off the mask, change I'll turn around," I told her and did just that.

"Okay." She said and changed and I did the same finally feeling fresh.

"How do I look?" She asked after she changed and put on her disguise.

"You look like a real elf but your elf ear is slightly wrong, here let me help you," I said and helped her adjust her ears and we were good to go.

"How do I look?" I asked with a smile.

"Also like an elf." She said grinning. That felt weird.

"Well let's keep moving and hope we find someone we can ask for help from." We kept moving, I was getting tired and thirsty, you can add hungry to the list.

"How much further my legs are starting to hurt," Bridget whined.

"Quit your whining, I don't know because I have never been here," I told her.

"But you have read this novel before can't you tell where we are?" She asked.

"Not exactly." We kept walking for a couple more hours I presumed because the sun was already coming out.

"I see something up ahead." Bridget hollered.

"What? I don't see anything, oh wait... I see something, is that a gingerbread house?" I asked in awe.

"Sure looks like it, who do you think is living there?" Bridget asked.

"Let's go find out." We walked towards it and knocked on the door.

"I hope we don't get into trouble or fall into the wrong hands, let's just be optimistic all the way," I told Bridget.

"And a witch should jump out and bring us to our doom," Bridget said concerned.

"Way to be optimistic," I said glaring at her.

"Sorry." Did she just...? She just keeps surprising me.

"Who is there?", someone asked as the door opened "what do you want?" The reindeer asked, I didn't know reindeer could talk or own houses.

"Well hi, we are elves." I introduced.

"I can see that." The reindeer responded nonchalantly.

"Okay...uhm.." I said stuttering.

"What do you want?" He asked displeased.

"Well, we would like you to point us in the direction of the north pole," I asked politely while Bridget stayed rooted in her spot and stared.

"Are you blind?" It asked with a weird expression.

"No, I am not," I said getting upset, who does it think it is?

"Then how come you can't see the north pole that is right over there." It said and we looked from the side of the gingerbread house and we saw it.

"How didn't we see it?" I asked looking at Bridget.

"Beats me." She said and shrugged her shoulders.

"Thank you for your help," I said and the reindeer slammed the door on our faces.

"Rude much," I yelled.

"The portal that will take us home should be inside the north pole, so when we get to the north pole we will ask around for the portal we don't need to see Santa's workshop," I told her.

"Why not?" She asked staring at me.
