"Charlie!" "Charlie, where the fuck are we going?" Kyle Wilson whisper yelled.

"Calm down already, we're fine just follow me" Charlie stated before turning down the darkly lit alley way.

The two ran through the city streets, ignoring the occasional stares they got.

Charlie turned a sharp corner and stood behind a building.

"Here hold this" Charlie said handing Kyle his phone.

He jumped up and grabbed the bottom of the fire escape and brought it down.

"Don't just stand there come on!" Charlie said starting to walk up.

The two walked up the few flights of stairs before reaching the roof top.

"Okay here close your eyes" Charlie smiled and walked Kyle towards the edge.

He took his phone and stood back.

"Okay, open"

Kyle opened his eyes to see the beautifully lit city. He stood there staring in aw.

"Happy last day my bro" Charlie said walking up to him and putting his arm around his shoulder.

"How'd you find this place?" Kyle asked still staring at the view.

"Getting chased by the cops actually. Managed to get up here and jump to the next building, almost got caught when I saw the view and stopped" Charlie laughed.

"Thanks for bringing me here Charlie. I'll miss you, a lot" Kyle said wrapping Charlie in a tight embrace.

After a few minutes they walked to the edge and sat down together. They talked about what California was going to be like and Charlie really tried staying happy for Kyle, he'd finally be able to leave this city.

By the time they finished talking the sun was rising. With tears in their eyes the boys watched the city slowly wake up.

By 8am, they were walking down the fire escape. "Do you have time for one last DD or do you need to get going?" Charlie asked.

"I have the time" Kyle smiled even though he had tears in his eyes.

The two walked to their favorite dunkin donuts and ordered their usual iced coffee and boston cream donuts. They sat at their usual table and ate.

It was now 8:30am. " I need to get going back Charlie. I need to be gone by 9" Kyle reluctantly said.

They got city scooters and rode through the city, enjoying their last moments together.

They got to Kyles house in the suburbs by 8:54, his parents pissed but they couldn't care.

"Facetime me once you get there?" Charlie asked no longer holding his tears back.

"Of course. I love you man, come here" Kyle replied taking Charlie into a tight hug while both sobbed.

Kyle got pulled by his parents into their car. Kyle waved out the window at Charlie who stood there alone, crying.

Kyle was moving to California. Kyle and Charlie had been best friends for years, since the first day of kindergarten.

They were alike. Both had a bad boy appearance of dark clothing with chains and straps, they had similar personalities though Charlie was more of a risk taker while Kyle imagined taking them. They completed each other, and now one half was moving to the other side of the country.

Charlie waited till the car was completely out of sight before sitting on the front lawn and crying into his knees. He had been holding back his tears for too long.

After a while, he finally had the courage to walk back to his apartment.

He got onto his city scooter and held the one Kyle had used in his hand as he rode back into the city.

He got to his apartment completely exhausted and walked to his bedroom after locking the front door.

He laid in bed and cried some more before passing out.
