The night sky shimmered with thousands of stars. I sometimes wondered if my life would always be this dull and boring. Nothing ever happens in my life. My name is Misaki Tasoro. I'm a junior in high school and frankly saying, my life is utterly boring. All I do is go to school, come home, go through classes to take over the family business with my brother, and listen to my father constantly tell me that I'm not worth his time. My father is the head of the Tasoro Conglomerate. The company supplies all the businesses in the city and even around the world with various products. So to put it simply, I'm rich. Well, my family is rich. Everyone I ever meet seems to think that being rich means your life is full of excitement and luxury. Well I have bad news...it doesn't. At least not for me.

After my father dies or when he decides we are ready, my twin brother Haro will take over the main company while I am to take over the product company. All my life, my father has done nothing but drill into me how to be a good business owner, how to act like a lady, and how to make more money. My father still lives back in old times, where women weren't allowed to do anything but stay home and do house work. Even Noble women weren't expected to do anything.

But since we don't live in that age anymore, he can't exclude me. My father never wanted a daughter. I'm sure when he found out mom was pregnant with twins, he figured they would have been both boys. However, as I am here, that was not the case. But, because I was a girl, he decided to go a different rout and drill into me how to be proper and prim. Once I turned of age, he immediately enrolled me in a private all girls school, which was torture in itself.

You'd think that because I was in high school and rich, that I would have tons of friends. Sadly, that's not the case. I've never had any friends. Well, not real friends anyway. I've had "friends" that say they are my friends, just so that they can benefit off of my money. If they didn't want me for my money, most people thought I was snobbish and rude. Even when I would try to be nice, they saw me as a nuisance. People would often talk about me when they knew I was listening. They would sometimes ask me, "What? Are you going to run home and tell your rich daddy?" I knew they were just being mean, but the bullying was starting to get to me. Even if I was to tell my father, he wouldn't care. Maybe if my brother told him people were bullying him, he would do something about it, but not for me.

He's never once told me he loved me. Not even when I was sick, did he ever pay attention to me. You might be wondering, 'where's your mom?'. Well, my mom died giving birth to my brother and I. Apparently she had trouble giving birth to me, after my brother, and lost too much blood. They didn't know she was pregnant with twins until she was giving birth, so it was unexpected and they were unprepared. I feel like, that's why my father is always so distant towards me, and probably why he seems to hate even looking at me. My brother was his perfect child. When I was little, I used to hear the maids muttering about how my father didn't really want a daughter. He had always wanted a son to run his precious company. I couldn't help that I was born, neither could mom.

I usually sneak out of the mansion at night, to go on walks to just think about everything. Which is why I'm standing in the woods behind my house. It was a Saturday night, and I was enjoying my freedom while I could. Soon I wouldn't be able to sneak out and take these walks. After I graduated high school, my brother and I would immediately start working under our father at the company. Instead of feeling excited, all I felt was dread.

Lately there's been rumors' that a vampire has been going around attacking people at random. Though, to be honest, I don't believe in the supernatural at all. It's just a rumor people have been spreading around to scare others and keep teens in check and off the streets. It's probably just some homicidal maniac. Which I guess wasn't much better, but I was always careful on my walks. And the woods behind my house, was private property, so no one would be there anyway.

But I didn't know that soon, I would find out exactly how real those rumors were, and how my life was about to change...forever.
